Gotta go in at some point love that for them and the fans now they can truly contented when the league is wide open. Bane and Suggs backcourt is legit when you have two point forwards no need to worry about picks that will be in the mid to late 20’s
Rules out Sabonis for Morant as well and takes them out of Trae Young talks

Bane is a good player but was underwhelming in the recent playoffs against Thunder. In any case, without Bane, they are not thinking about playoffs and more towards a reset. So, JJJ or Ja can become available.

Wouldn’t that count as a reset already trading JJJ or morant now is basically a full blown rebuild.

Perhaps they think Ja and SPJ could be a good backcourt? Trading Bane at peak value is a masterstroke then.

What a rip off. I get they need scoring guards but I’d be surprised if Bane puts them over the hump enough. They could’ve found a much cheaper option.
I’d be pissed about 4 lottery protected first rounders for Bane.
Turns out the Gobert and Mikal Bridges FRP heists set the market rather than reset it as I thought it would.
Makes me wonder what we could’ve got for Monk from Orlando. Not as many picks but something everybody would’ve been happy with

Bane is an all star and one of the best SG’s in the league monk is a bench player Orlando overpayed for the better player
Gotta think that gets mil to listen for Giannis. Or you add a bit more... and get Giannis instead of Bane.
I like Bane a lot, but the history of this sort of deal goes badly almost every time.

That is a really really tiny backcourt by modern NBA standards. I wouldn’t be totally shocked if JJJ and/or Ja also get moved by the Grizzlies after this. They might be in rebuild mode.

We like to make fun of SacTownDog for his obsession with length but Bane being built like Scrappy Doo (big ass head, small ass limbs) really does limit him in some situations (Keon Ellis absolutely taking his lunch money every time they play each other is a great illustration of this).
I wonder if this is more of a bet on Jaylen Wells than an indictment of their value of Desmond Bane.

Hell, this is more than the Knicks gave up for Mikal Bridges who, IMHO, is better than Bane and that was considered an obscene overpay.
