If Perry wasn't interested in swapping Zach for Trae over the summer (presumably because Trae doesn't possess the dog level defensive toughness he wants), I'm not buying he would be interested in taking on a personality like Ja.

Ja's contract runs an additional year longer. I'd rather just live with Zach next year and then be done with it.
Ja and Ant might be an interesting watch, to say the least.

Nope, could be a huge mistake. LaVines contract represents the potential path to rebuild, Morant is spinning wheels. Nothing more. Perry is already on the **** list just by the simple fact that he has these "pillars" and the very few players on this roster that represent them don't get factored in much. If he talks about doing this the right way and swings for more infield base hits then just get the next 3 years over with because it'll be somebody else in that chair by then for sure.

It would make sense for them. They are stuck in the middle without many options. That could be a smart target for a team like that.
