[Rumor] Scott Perry refuses to get Klutched, vetoes Zach trade to ATL

Will the frustrated people get permission from others to be frustrated when Perry isn’t able to trade anyone or should they just continue to chill? I’m pretty sure what we are going to get is another one of Perry’s philosophical tweets instead.
Well they should continue to chill until we know the answer to what Perry is going to be able to do or not rather than assuming it's a foregone conclusion

Why would you be frustrated when theres still 3 weeks until the deadline? Especially when virtually all in season movement happens within that last week?

After the deadline, ya, ill be mad right with you if theres no moves

We're just under 3 weeks from the trade deadline. Relax. There's still time!
Trades, please? Let there be trades. Let DDR be traded, Westbrook, Sabonis, Schroeder, Lavine, the ball boy. Let it rain trades. I'm getting more disturbed by the minute there aren't trades. Pretty soon I'll be calling the "help line" for assistance in climbing down from the precipice. LET THERE BE TRADES!

I’m checking my notes, just a second……….yes, it’s what I thought I saw, ATL traded Trae Young already and didn’t wait for the trade deadline. They had a sense of urgency. Perry has a sense of ???

ATL traded Trae because he was actively hurting their team as they tried to win. Also they have the Pels pick instead of their own this season.

Oh my bad, I didn't know 1 transaction being completed so far this year meant Perry is asleep at the wheel.

You haven't disproven my point, youre just complaining to complain

I think new GMs should at least be allowed to get to a deadline first, yeah. Seems rational

Let’s keep winning…..yay for the Kings. Play-in is next. You know that’s going through Vivek’s mind

It’s possible. But Vivek is a smart guy (outside of basketball) and he’s seen that what he’s done hasn’t worked. You would think he has to be thinking it’s time to step back from the basketball ops and let the professionals do their job.

One would think that but ……

Again, we were never going to finish at 8 wins. What's the point of getting pre-mad at us continuing to overload the vets (the strategy all year) before we know if the fires ale actually goes through or not. And like it or not, deals happen closer to the deadline and rarely before.

Perry has until the deadline. If he doesn't charge the rebuild, he's clearly failed. But I'm not going to pre bury him before. And I've been about as anti Perry/Doug as I can be

The point in getting mad is just the incompetence of the franchise for using this strategy. All you need to do is play checkers this year and this franchise isn't even competent enough to do that.

Were they ever going to finish at 18 wins, is the more realistic and relevant question

I mean sure, but we've sort of beat that to death the last few months. Is what it is with bringing on Dennis/Russ, etc.

I'm more interested at this point if they actually follow through with their trades/rebuild promises.

I think it's been beat to death because it just defies all logic. I still can't wrap my mind around how stupid this franchise is. Scott is an idiot for signing Schroder and Westbrook. DC is an idiot for playing the vets huge minutes and Vivek is an idiot for either allowing or pushing for both to happen.

It's just going to suck watching Peterson, Dybansta and company turn other franchises around while our team pushes themselves out of contention so they can eek out wins that no one will ever remember again in six months.

but at least the fans at the arena get to see the beam and have fun a few more times, is the current reasoning

Or you create a culture that does not accept losing every night, instead of a culture of hopelessness.

Culture doesn't matter much when you don't have talent. Acquire the talent and build the culture. The wins will come naturally at that point.

Even with the 4 game win streak we're 12-30 while being fueled by ungodly bad shooting by the opposing teams in the first 3 games 19,22,23% from those 3 (4th just being the Wizards). Like I've said before, we're a bad team that's making up for bad process, so the result probably ends up ok.

The vet heavy plan has lead to this. So as long it we keep staying bad (or trading everyone here in the next few weeks), the tank will be fine.

Let’s just say we didn’t bring in Dennis or Russ. Let’s say we played Keon Ellis 40 minutes a night and Keegan/Domas played most of the season. What’s the record? Would that be a better situation than we are currently in?

If Keegan/Domas played most of the year and are playing at 100% I think this is around a .500 team. Considering they’ve been hurt most of the year I think the table is set to tank and the team just needs to follow thru and move a few vets to finish in the bottom 4.

100%, yes. I'd bet all of Sactowndogs money, we'd have more than 12 wins right now.

So, it's a weird spot to be in. Just clean the vets before the deadline and let the chips fall where they may.

The Pacers have made the playoffs 11 times in the last 20 years, while we've made the playoffs once. They're a small market team as well that players aren't demanding to sign with. The difference is they are smart and know how to rebuild. Which is why they spend 4 or 5 years in the playoffs and then 3 or 4 years rebuilding before making another playoff run. Everyone is mad that they're tanking but in actuality they are just smarter than our franchise is and the results show.

The Kings were in the running for the #1 pick for a while there, yet their lottery pick from last year can't even see the court. Lets just start there.

The Pacers have won 4 of 6 and have 2 less wins than us. They aren’t sitting any of their players, they just suck. I don’t see any genius there, I see a one hit wonder that plays in the East.

This isn’t a defense of the Kings, less than 10 winning seasons in franchise history speaks for itself.

I'm just not buying Haliburton being worth 30 wins or whatever. The Pacers know what's up and they're looking to set themselves up like the Spurs did with Duncan/Robinson.

If the Kings were playing Carter 20mpg and were in a situation where they have to play the vets because they have to play somebody, then there wouldn't be much of a gripe. Doug rarely even gets this dude in during garbage time. Knowing what they have in him is a very important part of this rebuild, yet they seem to have no interest in his development. You'd think that would be a higher priority than knocking themselves down the lottery. Perry talks about getting younger and more athletic. Well they have had the opportunity to do that without a trade being necessary and they haven't.

Either Perry is just talking out his *** or he's not on the same page with Doug and we're back to the old GM/Coach mismatch nonsense of years past. Doug in no way should be in self preservation mode right now but he sure is coaching like it.

I hear ya, I’m just going to reserve judgement until this off season. Russ and Deebo will almost assuredly be gone and you will have up to 3 draft picks (or more if they make a trade) coming in with Keegan, Nique, Max and Dylan. That’s 7 guys 25 and under without making any major moves. ‘27 comes around and you now have Lavine off the books and likely a top 10 pick.

They also play in the east, where they don't have to fight through the gauntlet we do seemingly every single year.
