It would be nice if in the next game we can see Carter and Clifford as the guards in the last 8 minutes of the game. Westbrook is washed and there is no point playing him a minute in crunch time in the future. It's not as if there is any reason to play him to increase his trade value. This loss was as much to do with the Christie decision to play Westbrook in crunch time as any other factor.

I'm not remotely this optimistic but I agree with the crux of what you're saying, and to be quite honest it's one of the reasons I always hated a full tear down, tank, and hope for the best in the draft strategy. It probably is our only path forward especially after the horrible Fox trade but its ugly, its not fun, and I sure as hell won't be paying money to watch the Kings for the next 2-3 years.

In NYK he turned over the full roster in 3 years. I'm hoping at the end of 3 years we'll still have Keegan as a vet leader with a good foundation of youth to build a winner on. But that's what he did. He got rid of everyone. It seems that is what he's doing now. He's not bringing in longterm assets and while people are upset about the commitment to more salary next year with Hunter, locking Keon up would be just as costly and we're finally seeing if maybe Devin can do the same thing for a lot less for the next 2.5 years.

It's ugly, and I hate it, maybe he gets canned before we turn it around, but he's basically a demolition man and I think that's what we're getting. If he was hired to do that, great, I guess. If Vivek actually thought Perry would turn this around overnight, oops. I don't know what the season ticket memberships are going for next year, if there's been a reduction, there most definitely should be over the next year or two. People willing to pay to get through this deserve something.

Agreed. It takes time to right a team so poorly constructed as Monte left it. When there is such bad contracts like LaVine, DDR, and Monk (over pay for 6th man) sometimes it's best to just let them expire than to bring on an even worse contract or add draft capital to move them. Inexplicably, Monte actually re-routed a 1st rounder to Chicago to get LaVine's horrid contract in the Fox trade.

But don't look now. If Devin Carter keeps getting PT and shows he's a legit NBA player, the King's all of the sudden have a nice core of young players 25 years old or younger to build around. We've got Keegan, Nique Clifford, Devin Carter, Maxine Raynaud, Dylan Cardwell, and hopefully a top 5 pick to give us a solid 6 young players to build around.

I expect DDR will be bought out this summer and Lavine's contract falls off the book after next season (if he's not moved as a huge expiring contract next year). If Perry hits on the high draft picks this year and next year, he may be able to right this ship in 3 years.

I'll take a couple of extra wins in exchange for Clifford getting experience in crunch time.

I do think Westbrook's fatigue mistakes cost us the game, but let's also remember the grit and toughness he's brought to this team that had been sorely lacking (head coach excepted).
