Yeah, Vivek got razzle dazzled again. This is why there was never a chance of DC not getting the coaching spot. In that presser you saw both Perry and Christie are very similar philosopher/politician types and Vivek loves those. Which isn't always a bad thing as long as they are right more often than not.

Christie sure seems to have done a lot of deferring to Perry, in his assistant coaching selections, for example. I've heard Christie say how much he's relying upon Perry. I could easily see that mindset extend into the actual coaching of the team.

I would imagine hiring BoJax was totally Christie and it was rumored that Barbosa was Christies biggest ally. Would a GM even want any part of that? Even so, if the Kings FO and coaching spot are at odds again we know how that ends. The thing is, Perry and Christie are so similar in their willingness to adapt and bend when necessary this might actually be on the same page from the get go. Then to see if they are not only on the wrong page but reading the wrong book, haha. They're saying the right things about defense and selfless play so we'll see. Go out and make some of these rumored moves and I see that flying out the window though. Say one thing, do another continues on.

We will see fairly shortly some elements of a plan. Hard to be terribly optimistic, given everything that has gone on. At this point I would settle for a team with so-so talent, but above average toughness. If they go for an older team I don't think it will be very entertaining for me, as it will just be prolonging the inevitable rebuild.

Considering Monte seemed to get at best .75 cents on the dollar in his trades hopefully a master politician can maybe get us a buck-o-five back every once in a while?

Certainly understandable to defer to your boss when you're the least experienced head at the bottom of the totem pole. I'm sure they'll have their disagreements, but I doubt they will spill out into the public view.
