I had a feeling that's probably who you had in mind; I just don't appreciate the generalization.
LOL, Brick started with the generalizations... I'll be first to admit that some DH's have actualy been great all arround players, but in the end I love the NL and belive pitchers should take their at bats. The problem wiht the DH is not every guy that has the slot it's just some of the meat that ends up there.

Howdy everyone, long time no see... :)

I agree with you Celt, ALL players should have to take their at-bats. I had an uncle who was an all-star picther in 1966, he also had a good stroke with the bat. Later,he went on to play with the Big Red Machine and win a couple of WS rings. As a very young child I learned the meaning of "Grand Slam Homerun" after he hit one in about 1967 or 68!

Anyways, that fodder aside...pitchers should have to play the offensive part of the game too, don't think the game is PURE with DH's batting in the pitchers spot, unless they have to play an inning of defense as well. When did the game become about the fans paying to see someone hit? I guess I'm getting old... ;)

SAR=Jason Kendal Good player on a lot of bad teams, than got traded to an above average team. Not much power. Can put up numbers despite that.

brian giles also comes to mind.

"pitchers should have to play the offensive part of the game too,"

I don't think Jim Abbott would agree with that.;)

Since this thread got turned into a baseball dominated thread, I'm goinng to make some comments on the playoffs.

I'm glad the angels won today. I was kinda scared in the 9th when jeter singled to start the inning, but a rod choked bad with that double play.

What's up with these champagne celebrations? Its only the first round people. Wait till you win the world series or at least the LCS to celebrate with champagne.

Whoa, what a dissapointment vlad was in the postseason. I don't care how bad of a comparison this was, if SAR plays how vlad played in the playoffs, kill me.

not fair, Vlad did have a good postseason last year. he did hit that grand slam to tie the game up in game 3 before washburn gave up the walk off to Big Papi.

only thing i can think of that compares was when peja hit that 3 to tie up game 3 V the woofs.....

^^ yeah only to miss the free throw on that play that could've been a 4pt play and then also miss another free throw in overtime.
