Yeah, point differential in the Kings case doesn’t matter. Usually it’s a way to measure if a team is barely scraping by but the Kings win quite decisively when they do. They are more convincing winners than last seasons team.

If they can figure out how to lose like a normal team then they would have one of the better differentials in the league based on their wins. Kings haven’t been in very many especially close games this season. They aren’t the Kardiac Kings anymore, win or lose.

The point differential is an anomaly and not really a point of concern IMO.

And a lot of the leads are dwindled in garbage time. Lots of bad shots instead of running the offense.

Every season there’s a new “thing”, storyline and hurdle to climb. Last season, we were pretty mediocre and sometimes flat out bad at home. This year, our home court advantage really stands out and we’ve been putrid on the second night of back to backs. We’ll be fine! I’m looking forward to seeing how the Kings come off of another nice win last night.

Home and home back to backs are a bit different, and i think last night could end up being a nice warm up for tonight, with the rhythm and positive momentum continuing.

The funny thing is that even with those blowout losses (7 of our 10 losses by 10+ points) we're still on pace to win 51. When we're on, we don't look like a team that should win 50...we look like a team that should win 60+. It's only the anomalous number of absolute waxings that we've suffered this year that make us look worse.

I see the Kings as a streak team. If they're hot, they're hot....if they're cold, they're cold. And it's hard to win if you're cold because you can't rely on the defense due to the players on the team (everybody had to play hard on team defense just to make it work because individually, they're just not that great). But if this team play great D, then they can still manage to stay close despite being cold. They can't stop anybody and can't afford to exchange basket. That's why you see games where they were getting blown out like the Boston, Pelicans. If this team add a greater defender in replace of either Barnes or Huerter...they may give themselves a better chance on a nightly basis cuz we know Keegan and Fox will provide great D...it's the other guys that are weak. So, if you sub out Keegan and Fox....this team is even weaker.

You have to wonder if the Kings are being smart about conserving their energy when they know they don’t have it in the tank to win. Is it better to conserve your energy or fight wildly on nights you are just tired (2nd night of back to backs)?

For me, emotionally I am less drained on these games where the Kings mail in their efforts and lose by 15+ than fight and claw back only to run out of gas at the end and lose by 1.

A lose is a loss whether they lose by 1 point or by 20, why not save your energy for the next battle, because the season is a long war?

It is an interesting thought. Because one of the hallmarks of last year's squad was we were basically never out of any game. Even if we were down 25 at half, almost always we'd have a run to make it close.

But I also look at Domas having the 6th most minutes played last year and how that had to have some affect on him in the playoffs. And that dude just doesn't quit, so you know he's working all those minutes. I think a goal of ours has to be getting him and Fox to the playoffs healthy and with a lighter minutes load, if possible

I'm completely the opposite. I know we can't win every game, but now that we're a good team (finally!) I get extremely frustrated on the nights when we just come out obviously flat. In most of our blowout losses, it was obvious we were going to lose by the middle of the second quarter, it was like we forgot how to play basketball entirely. After 15 years of watching that over and over, I'm tired of that noise. If we're competing, I know we have a chance to win, we've got 4th Quarter Fox, everybody's playing hard, it's enjoyable to watch, and on the rare occasion that Klay hits a shot at the buzzer to beat us, hey, that sucks. But WAY better than watching a talented team fumble through basketball like we just recruited them off the local golf and rugby squads.

From Suns reddit:

Allen and Nurkic have been our only positive pickups in an offseason where we completely gutted our roster.
I don’t know how we thought picking up a bunch of random wings that barely cracked the rotation on lottery teams was going to work.
Nas, Wantababe, KBD, Goodwin, Metu… none of these guys have played a single meaningful minute of playoff basketball in their careers. Gordon has had his moments with us, but our dude is 34 years old.
Compare this to the Kings who rolled out Malik Monk as their 6th man tonight… he would probably be the third best player on our team.

We're DEEP, baby! Hopefully the Kings can get out and push the pace on this Wolves squad the way they did in Minnesota. They'll want revenge on us but they don't scare me the way they did last season.

Getting beasted by the same team over and over is not a strategy that is something has to do with their mentality.

Kings inexplicably down 8 despite failing to stop the T-Wolves on 75% of their possessions and everyone aside from De’Aaron Fox generally missing every single shot they take.
