Sacramento Kings to Seattle Rumors?

Its like this. The city will no longer stand in the way of an arena while the current mayor is in office but has no money.The state wants to do something different with the Cal Expo venue.....but doesnt have much money either. The NBA and some investors want to put a new arena in Sacramento. The Maloofs have an unknown amount of money and they appear to want to stay with their current fanbase......

That means theres still a chance .....and thats all there is.

With the economy the way it is in California/Sacramento, with the state just about BKed and high unemployment I really don't see Sac-town getting a new arena anytime soon. The timing completely sucks (young rebuilding team with lots of potential). The economy needs to significantly improve first. If the Kings missed out on an arena when the team was fantastic and the state/city was financially 'better' no way they get an arena now. I really believe that the Maloofs want to stay but they will be forced to leave. They just can't continue to lose money or make very little money. A championship costs money and a consistently sold out brand new venue is key to this goal.
