[Game] Sacramento Kings @ Denver Nuggets 4/9/2023 12:30PT/3:30ET

SLAB

Hall of Famer
We’re playing the Warriors, tanked the final two games, but also lost to San Antonio and Dallas when we weren’t trying to rank.

I feel even more pessimistic than usual. I can’t imagine beating the Warriors. At least we’ll have a Pacific banner next year I guess.

I cant imagine this Warriors series not going 7 games. Warriors helped energize the Kings team win-streak early in the season.
And while the Clippers might've been a tad easier, the Warriors should bring out the fight better as the media will give the Warriors the nod.

I've only watched the highlights. But it seems that PJ Dozer continues to show flashes of his dishing chops. Was that the feeling to those who watched the game?

Young Keon got 13 mins but Neemi only got 4, I guess he's still not quite ready for the big league?

Tricky thing is, the Bay Area exodus to the 916 area code the last decade will probably make any area restrictions moot. It’s a shame, because I remember when Warriors fans were quite rare, even in the Bay Area.
The Kings did do a presale that the mentioned on the Kings telecast but of course it doesn’t work. The sent out an email yesterday.

you click the link and gave no where to enter the code.

what really sucks are the Kings fans reselling play-off tickets for $1000 of dollars that will go to Warrior fans who won’t blink at the cost.

A new low for you huh

Rub it in if I’m wrong. Having no faith in beating this never ending dynasty coming off yet another championship year and having all their pieces back together just in time for the playoffs isn’t any sort of a low.
Hey, one great thing about setting up low expectations is that you won't get disappointed as you've already chosen to accept the disappointing option right off the bat.

I wouldn't expect any less from our resident pessimist.

Oh sorry you had problems, for the presale email sent to us as season ticket holders we had a link sent on Wednesday for mainly “packages” and then another link on Friday for single games and both times it was easy the prices on the other hand the prices not so much hahaha

Your expectations coming into this season were pretty darn negative to begin with. Not sure what's so difficult about just enjoying the ride but you do you.

Yeah, I'm pretty miffed about the prices thing.

Not only have "prices" been ridiculous for a bottom tier team the past 17 years, the reality of the Warriors offering cheaper playoff ticket prices makes it 10x worse.

If any franchise can defend gouging fans like that, it's certainly the one that has won 4 titles and been a dominant and model franchise for the past decade -- not the one making ONE playoff appearance since 2006.

But I guess we all know what to expect from Vivek by now.

I think you have to look at this "dynamic pricing" which has become the norm now. Because Kings fans have been starved so long the ticketmaster and other ticket sales algorithms raise the price. It should be illegal.

I don't buy "dynamic pricing" as an excuse for overpriced tickets.

Because dynamic pricing should have seen the ticket prices be much more reasonable and cheaper when the team was struggling for well over a decade. But they were still way overpriced, even when interest waned and sell outs weren't happening. Specifically lower level seating.

I'm talking specifically about playoff tickets right now and the huge jump once they went open market.

I can't speak to what they charged when they were trash, there's pretty much all kinds of shady things that happen when a team sucks with tickets and people are guaranteed to be mad no matter what. I honestly think that it is probably fairest to STH to not start discounting or giving away seats during lean times because it kills the value of their ticket and makes them angry. But at the same time that means half full arenas and people questioning "why is a ticket $250 for this garbage team?". It's lose lose. I'm hoping it's a problem we won't have again for a long time. I'm also hoping that if the team sustains success and the "novelty" of winning wears off, that future years will see more affordable opportunities to see a good Kings team in person.

Illegal? It's called "capitalism" lol. Supply and demand. The very foundation of our domestic economy. So much to love about it.

Sorry for the derailment.

That ain't gonna happen I'm afraid. As winning basketball starved as this "region" is, it will only get worse. With tech bois gobbling up real estate in Sac after being priced out of the bay to the die hard holdovers who would spend anything to get to see this team even when they were losing, this area is a gold mine and Vivek knew it. Unfortunately he couldn't get out of his own way for about 5-7 years but once he did and actually hired a middling middle manager type who was bred for the job he will finally be able to realize his dream of bringing the bay to Sac.

Strap in. It's not going to get cheaper as long as Domas roams the paint and perimeter and Fox slices and dices the wings and Keegan rains supreme from all angles.

I'm glad you brought up real estate. In the city where I reside, Californians are snatching up real estate left and right and using them as either Airbnb's or rentals

But we've seen that at Chase Center tickets are cheaper. They are 100x into the luxury tax and the super high end tech bros who can afford to live there. Sacramento should be cheaper. It's the speculative market that has done this to Sacramento's prices, because people are buying a moment they haven't had in almost 20 years. Once those moments are repeatable the price comes down.
