Sabean: Cain And Lincecum Won't Get Dealt

"We're not listening to any offers any longer on (Matt) Cain and (Tim) Lincecum," Sabean said.

Like the Rowand signing, but won't be enough. I'm not sure I wouldn't have dealt Cain or Lincecum for Cabrera, but that's just me.

I would have traded Cain for Cabrera...Probably in a second...Cain could be great, but he's been pretty inconsistent...Granted he's only 23, but Cabs is 24 and goes .333/30hr/120rbi annually. Thats a nice centerpiece. Although he does have his weight/defense issues, I think his offense is just too damned good.

Lincecum, on the other hand, I think I would only trade for one player in the game.

Hanley Ramirez. The guy is going to his .350/25-30hr/100+ RBI AND steal you some 50 bases in his prime. That is a kid you want to build everything around.

Haren is better, has a great contract, and look what his worth was.

Good. We aren't going anywhere right now anyway but this pitching should only get better. I like the idea (my idea anyway) of building a pitching and defensive team in Pac-Bell.
