Rudy Gay

I love how we used Gay tonight, he is one hell of a finisher, whether its at the rim, mid range pop, long range catch and shoot. The longer the ball is in his hand the less likely he will make the shot. As a finisher he really has the full package for a wing. Such a pro too, I think he is having a great influence on Cousins, just on how to treat the NBA grind day by day as "The Guy" for your franchise.

I remember in the pre-season I (among others) suggested trading for Gay, and were totally shot down because he's "terrible & a ball hog".

Now he's as much of a star as ever.

To be fair we are using him very different from how he was used in Toronto. There he was used like Lebron really. Here he is more like James Worthy? I didn't see much of Worthy, before my time. But from what I have seen he was one of the best wing finishers of all time.

I was thinking tonight how frustrating it could be watching Tyreke Evans (as a King) finish at the rim or pull up with his fade away - meaning missing to dang often. With Rudy Gay it's exact opposite feeling. WHAT A RELIEF!

Rudy Gay is the Richard Sherman of basketball

That's what happens when you put a sorry small forward like Aminu on the great Rudini, that's the result you gone get!
Don't you ever talk about the Rudini!
..who was talking about you..?

Raptors fans. Don't chew open your mouth about the best, before I shut it for you real quick!

Tyreke is great at attacking the rim, thats it, he is not a threat from anywhere else on the floor, thus there are nights when he looks amazing, and nights where you barely notice him. Rudy is a complete scorer that is a threat from everywhere on the floor. The more threats you present the harder you are to guard. A scouting report on Tyreke is much more brief than one on Rudy Gay.

I remember Padrino talking about Rudy Gay quite a bit but I do not remember who agreed or disagreed. I think I was talking about Jordan Hamilton of the Nuggets.

I know its stating the obvious but there are many on here that thought Tyreke was a legit #2 to Cousins, I never saw it and I am glad we avoided paying him big money. Tyreke is a good guy and I am glad he got paid, but I am glad we weren't the one that did it. Then somehow ended up with Rudy Gay by using Vasquez and some other expirings makes such a huge win for us.

Seems like Rudy can pass and play some D too when he wants to. I didn't ever notice that before he came to the Kings..

9-11 with Rudy. Hope we go 10-11 with him after tomorrow but I am not going to count on it because Malone played the starters too long tonight.

Is this Rudy's team now? Maybe the thought of breaking in a brand new arena will entice him to stay should PDA offer him a contract extension. I hope so. Now if only we had a starting PG.

I don't think Rudy wants it to be his team. I think he owes a lot of his success to the idea that Cuz is in charge. He can relax. It appears a relaxed Rudy is damn good. He even mentioned Cuz in the post game interview and mentioned no one else. Perhaps he sees it as shared leadership on the court but without Cuz, I think he is the Toronto Rudy.

... And the countdown begins for the inevitable and exhausting IT comments.

No he didn't Cousins played 29mins, Thornton 28 and Gayy while he did play 42 was kind of effortless tbh it's not like he was putting all his energy into it nor was it a high paced game. The only two guys that can have excuses for being tired are Thomas (who has energy for days) and JT who played 35mins and busted his ass the whole game.

A few hated the idea but a few thought now that Reke was gone he was exactly the type of player to take a risk on as he can be a legit 2nd option on just about any team in the league. Granger was another. We needed a wing to fill the void who could get his own shot and create for himself or others as well as draw doubles/extra attention. Rudy can do that.

And he's doing it better than just about anyone expected and Malone deserves a great deal of credit in this respect.

Although he doesn't say much we don't know already, but I love these lines:

Q: Which way are you leaning in terms of opting into your contract for next season or opting out?

A: I'm not sure. I have to go into the summer with my people, think about everything, weigh out the pros and cons. I don't know yet. But Sacramento's been great to me thus far. Obviously I'm trying to tune it all out right now. All I can think about right now is how great Sacramento's been to me.

I really like Rudy, not only on the floor, but off aswell. When he was out he was always close to the bench, talking to the guys and supporting them. He looks like a pro and a positive guy. You can't have enough guys like that.
