Would like to have Billups '04 like PG on this team.Personally, I'm hoping for Rondo or Asik. Rondo would instantly change the outlook of this team. We would be great in 4/5 positions

I meant to ask about this earlier, and got sidetracked by all of that "media" nonsense: how many more times are we allowed to defer that pick, anyway?
The draft pick is lottery-protected next year, top-13 protected in 2013, top-12 protected in 2014 and top-10 protected from 2015-17. If the Cavs don't receive the pick by 2017, they will receive a second-round pick.
I wouldn't bet money on that, if I were you.[/quoteYeah...especially since JT is our only other serviceable big man now, and if we were to move him, then Acy would be a decent [a
I would have to think that any trade we are involved in now has to be for another 4/5 to play alongside DMC, because we aren't stacked up front with quality bigs outside of DMC/JT/William...that's it, we gots nada outside of them.Personally, I'm hoping for Rondo or Asik. I'm still puzzled why the **** did the Kings let go of Whiteside and Aldrich, then have to settle with N'Diaye.
Because Whiteside had horrible work ethics and had reached his potential in this league, and Aldrich COULD have been a serviceable 3rd or 4th big, but nothing to lose sleep over by letting him go...and we're not building our team around N'Diaye, he's just a young body that works hard for Malone, and who know, he might be a good energy guy at the end of our bench down the road because of that energy/work ethic.I'm still puzzled why the **** did the Kings let go of Whiteside and Aldrich, then have to settle with N'Diaye.
Well N'Diaye can be a foul fodder but Whiteside has had a great season so far in China this year, was the finals mvp, defensive player of the year, averaged 25.7 pts, 16.6 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 5.1 blocks.Because Whiteside had horrible work ethics and had reached his potential in this league, and Aldrich COULD have been a serviceable 3rd or 4th big, but nothing to lose sleep over by letting him go...and we're not building our team around N'Diaye, he's just a young body that works hard for Malone, and who know, he might be a good energy guy at the end of our bench down the road because of that energy/work ethic.
Aldrich is a much better big than N'Diaye, in all aspects.I'm baffled as to why they let Aldrich go as well. He showed he can produce in limited minutes and be a decent 10th man.
I'm very interested in what you think a combination of Salmons, Hayes, Patterson and Vasquez can get you.
Marc Stein from ESPN is reporting that the Kings aren't done dealing, they are shopping JT as well(which I assume they would try and package with Jimmer and Thornton or a combination of the three). Wow these guys are cleaning house.
not much. i've already stated that i believe PDA did well in dumping scrubs for a player of value. however, i'm not going to be suckered into believing that rudy gay is somebody other than the player that he is simply because of the excitement generated by the kings' involvement in a big trade...
say what you want about tyreke evans, that guy will get you 4-5 apg while taking most of his shots near the rim. gay, on the other hand, takes about as many long twos as shots at the rim, and he shoots those long twos very poorly. he's a chucker of the highest order, and he's exactly the kind of player kings fans have been hoping the team would purge from the roster. he's a good rebounder from the SF position, but the kings are talking about using him as a stretch 4, where i imagine he'll struggle, defensively and on the boards...
overall, it's absolutely a talent upgrade. but, in my opinion, the value of the acquisition lies in gay's contract, which will act as a tremendous expiring deal in the '14-'15 season, right as the kings should have an opportunity to bring in considerable talent via free agency. in the meantime, i maintain that rudy gay will do little to actually make this team better...
I think JT still starts. Williams has not shown enough at PF on this team to be bumped to starter. In fact the Utah was the only game he played any PF for us.So...IT, Ben, Gay, Williams, Cuz should be our new starting 5, right??
Tyreke is hurt. He was not beaten out, and he was playing pretty well over the past two weeks.Thats because near the rim was the limit to his range, to argue that Evans is a better player than Gay is crazy. Gay can drive, hit the midrange and 3 pt shot, rebound and handle the ball and finish at the rim. Tyreke was as predictable as the sun rising every day, drive to his right and try and finish at the rim, yes he had a great handle but when the defense knows exactly what your going to do, it became way too easy to contain him. Just look at how Tyreke is doing now with the Pelicans, having an atrocious season and being beaten out of the rotation by Alfaruq Aminu. Hopefully he can pull it together, its not looking good at all for Tyreke, other than the huge paychecks of course.
The only concern about Rondo is, will he still be the same player before the injury or not?JT and jimmer for Asik Then Isaiah, outlaw, Thornton for rondo and marshon brooks
Then Isaiah, outlaw, Thornton for rondo and marshon brooks
this may or may not have had anything to do with the management's seeming lack of belief in the tank (I believe it doesn't), but I wonder if some in the FO believe that the class coming out is a bit overrated and 7-8 interchangeable and deep
The difference between Ray and GV is that Ray can play defense....if I'm Sac I'm getting the kid minutes starting tomorrow. If they put Jimmer at PG, I'll be extremely disappointed. There's no point in doing that
Not sure what to think about this one.
We got rid of 4 guys who had no future with the team.
We got a guy who was as solid as they come at the SF position, but he's been on a downward trend the last few years. Toronto is rejoicing getting rid of him. The bad news is there's no way he's going to opt out of next year so we have $19mil wrapped up in him next season. The good news is that we weren't going to sign anyone as good as Gay anyway so it's worth a shot.
What's the plan for the front office? Are they trying to win this year? Next year? Do they really think we can start Williams or Gay at the PF spot? Are they just going to throw a bunch of players at this team until something sticks or is there a specific plan?
As of right now we are in line to have a good shot at a potential superstar in next years draft. I hope we don't throw it away for a year and a half of Rudy Gay and a pair of 30 win seasons.
I was hoping the Kings got Monta Ellis this summer.. Everyone was bashing on him because of his shooting %. Now hes on a new team and hes killing it in dallas.. Hopefully Rudy can do the same here in Sac.
This is really exciting, cant wait for Wednesday... So much for finals week
