Rosa Parks...

...died today at the age of 92. I have always admired her as one of the bravest Americans in our history. I remember the tears flowing (in joy) when she was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. RIP - Rosa. And, thank you for your courage.

RIP indeed. I did a report on her in 5th grade and I was really fascinated and such about her will to stand up and succeed.

I found this photo on a website called thesmokinggun.com. It speaks to humanity and personal dignity in the face of injustice.

Sometimes the most powerful and profound acts are simple and seemingly ordinary.

RIP to an American hero. What an amazing, courageous woman she was. I also admired her humbleness in the face of all the attention she received.

True heroes are made not from sports figures or elected officials but from true Americans who do something extraordinary in their everyday lives. Rosa Parks was a true American. All of us are a little better because she refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery a long time ago...

RIP Rosa Parks

RIP Rosa Parks

Not that it is important, but the bus was actually in Montgomery, where I now live. There is a Rosa Parks library and museum downtown.

RIP to an American Icon. She, whether or not it was her intent, has made my life, my parent's life, and millions of other African-Americans lives(past, present and future) much better than what it could have been
