RoadTrip to Stanford to see Kara and Bekkah with the U.S. team.....anyone going? I'm seriously considering it.......very seriously, i.e. I have my form filled out. :p

So seriously my form was nearly faxed back to ARCO 10 minutes after I got it until I got sidetracked by something else this afternoon and it got too late to fax it.

:)

No fax capabilities at this time. I'll have to mail mine in. If you are going, then I will make a decision...for sure...to go.

Drove over to Arco after work & turned mine in, so it looks like a party;)
For sure it will be fun hanging out with fans, & not having to drive.
Also pretty cool of MSE for representing our Monarchs & setting this event up.

Just talked with my rep. Good news and bad news.

:(
Rebekkah may be in Italy at that time and Kara may be busy with ESPN.

:)
DeMya will be riding on one of the buses on the way down!

Save me a few places in line as well my friends.
Trying to get Knares & my pal Diffy on the trip.
DeMaya should have everyone rollin!
Still, is it official K-Law will not be there?

You might check with your rep. They had a meeting at 5:00 p.m. today to discuss upcoming events, including the Stanford trip.

My rep's words were that they'd "probably" not be there because of other commitments. Let us know what your rep says.

Better yet our K-LAW is BACK....very cool!
Two tough match-ups vs. Conn. & Tenn are any being televised?
Those would be fun to watch. GO TEAM USA!

Big Win

Team USA downs Baylor 82-56

USA's starters score in double figures, Taurasi goes for 21, Leslie double doubles again. (Stop me if you've heard any of these things mentioned in a sentence before....ever ;))

Benchies barely play or score...what's up with that?

Next victi..ehrm..opponent is Arizona State on Thursday and then to Texas A&M on Sunday. ;)

Not that I'm aware...I'll check to see if there are webcasts or streaming audio from the colleges.

There is however A LOT of college basketball on over the weekend however, I'll be opening a thread later tonight with the schedule of games. The season kicks off and we have a lotta scouting to do....;)

#21
Yeah what is up with that? Not giving the whole team some time on the court.
I guess we gotta get a memo to to Coach D. Look here can K-Law get some minutes, especially the Stanford game? I mean this is team USA.
We might have to start a chant at the game, should K-Law not get some PT,;)

#22
Woooo....a squeaker

Well, Donovan apparently felt her ears burning....;)

Team USA 82-48 over Arizona State...

A lotta players score in double figures, including KARA who actually apparently got to make more than a cameo tonight. Well, by about a minute or two, but Kara had a nice night from the floor to get her 12.

On to Texas A&M on Sunday....

For those wishing to listen or watch the game on the web... Here's a link. The site lists both the audio and video feeds as being "free" but you'll need to register nonetheless.

The final leg next week: Team USA winds down with a game with USC's Women of Troy Weds the 13th and Stanford on Thurs the 15th

Eh....not such a close one

Team USA 75-24 over Texas A&M

Thanks in part to a 21-0 run in the first half, and a whole LOTTA problems matching up with Braxton (18pts) and Leslie (17pts). USA also owned them on the boards with KARA LAWSON  snagging a game high 11 rebounds....McWilliams-Franklin and Braxton each had 5 blocks...in this runaway.

(Kara apparently is auditioning for PF minutes should we need help in rotations there next season ;))

The Magical Mystery Tour ends this week with a visit Tuesday to LA to play USC and then up north to what may be ARCO Arena West @ Stanford, where 3 bus loads of Ms fans will form the Lawson homecoming committee... :)

USC is Leslie Country

Team USA 88-64 over the Women of Troy

The Lisa Leslie "I'm About to Come Back And Go Jack Crazy On The League" Tour rolled through LA and her old stomping grounds USC where she proceeded to drop 25/10 against the 2007-08 edition of USC Women's basketball. Women of Troy went into the lockerroom @ half leading 36-33.

Kara, who I'm sure is saving up for her NorCal appearance, had a quiet 4pt/2reb/3asst night.

Thursday night, Stanford/Team USA...get your tickets and be there!

See everyone at ARCO tomorrow. It'll be a fun fun trip to Stanford. I am so looking forward to getting out of town...if only for a few hours.

#27
Drat... I've got parent conferences til late tomorrow (teacher's job...), but then I get to haul a bunch of kids to Arco to see the Globetrotters.

(Don't tell the kids, but I'd rather be riding to Stanford)

Can't wait for a report from you lucky ones...

#28
And that's a wrap....

Team USA 97-62 over Stanford

The tour concludes @ Maples with Team USA finalizing its undefeated "season" which began earlier this spring in Italy.

Synopsis: Kara came home(dropping 15pts)...Maples did indeed become (a raucus)ARCO Arena West, Taurasi and Leslie tried(rather successfully) to make nice with Monarchs fans and a fun time was had by all. :)

I'm guessing fuller reports will come at a more reasonable hour from boadsters who attended....;)

Yes a good time was had by all...

I actually have I post game report which I will share when I get off work.

Short version...
Met Lil Lauren Jolie Lockwood. Cute lil girl. I will actaully be glad to have her mother back to Boo! Somehow Playing the Sparks just isn't the same without her.
Had a wonderful conversation with Mrs. Wiggins. Mom of C. Wiggins. She is neat lady and said she was gonna make a few trips up to Arco besides the ones her Daughter will be making. Met Big Jayne Appel. Big Girls Rule. She was Wiped out poor thing. She said LLL and Braxton wore her to the bone. But she is looking forward to the Tennesse Match up.
Ran into Taj McWilliams on the way out. Also Spoke with Jennifer Azzi, Renne Brown, and Jamie Carey. Jennifer is still one of the great class acts that ever graced Maples Pavillion. And last but not Least, On my way to the Car I almost tripped over our own lil Diva In training Zachara Catherine.

Damn she is getting Big. I got a moment to chat with DeMya while she was waiting for her man to get the car. See this is why I Love The Diva. Never at a loss for words.

As for the game, I missed the first 15 minutes but I had no problem finding the Monarchs Crew, cause I had my gear on. And of course the usher politely said, "Your Group is right there".

Hats off to the Sac Crew. Way to Represent. It may have been Stanfords Gym but last night it was Kara Lawson's House.

However I did have a pressing question.

Considering that Arco Arena is West, How did Maples Pavillion become Arco West? Arco South Maybe, Arco Junior... yeah I might be able to buy that. Even Baby Arco.

But we might want to work on Arco West.

Gotta agree that was a very nice trip. MSE have my appreciation.
The trip was well organized & the company excellent, all's I can say about Ticha is she is a sight to see, oh yeah she knows a bit about basketball;) as well. She was on our bus.

They loaded us up with snacks & soda or water. We took a Monarchs quiz,
Props to MBF for 8 right answers and a free gift:)

Really enjoyed the game, Kara was in her zone & she played great. One thing that really stood out was her basketball shape. Even K.Braxton looked a bit lean. Michelle & I strolled down to the end-zone seats & got a good look at the team. Solid effort from team USA. They may have been a bit tired.
One things for sure L.Leslie was her old self, never shy about shooting...

K Law came out & thanked the fans for coming out...she seemed real proud of the turnout. We then loaded the buses, they put in a DVD ''Coach Carter''
A very fun time. Lets hope we can get more road trips before the season starts & get more folks to come out.
