Relative severity of punishment (NBA/NFL/MLB)

In light of the recent MSG hoopla, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any recent fights in other sports so that we could compare how much they're punished for a similar incident. It seems like a comparable scuffle in football would be a 15 yard penalty and in baseball maybe a game suspension. (?) But thats my question really, I'm not sure.

I guess it has to be done if the goal is to completely eliminate NBA brawls. But the whole NBA media blitzkrieg about how evil Isaiah is for maybe ordering a hard foul seems a bit much, 10 or 15 years ago a hard purpose foul wasn't even a big deal.

So if I've got this right for the nuggets, they lose their best guy for 1/6 of the season, and he loses 1/6 of his pay. Then they lose another starter for 1/8 of the season. And of course the other guys involved on both teams as well. Seems a bit much for a little pushing and snarling and a couple weak hits.

Here's something funny if you're mad at Thomas and want some justice:

In December 1991, Isiah Thomas, one of the league's most loved superstars, was driving to the basket and Karl Malone "went for the ball" but somehow managed to hit Isiah's face so hard with an "unintentional" elbow that Thomas had to be carries from the court and required plastic surgery and forty stitches.Malone was assessed a flagrant foul and given a $10,000 fine and a one-game suspension.

See the funny part, "most loved superstars" my $#*!, nobody liked Zeke. But its not like he invented the concept of the payback foul, he's just clinging to it a little too long for today's league to stand.

Micheal Barrett got suspended for 10 games after starting a mini brawl by punching A.J. Pierzynski (in my opinion he should have been rewarded for punching him :) ).

Okay good comparison, thats 1/16 of a season I guess. I can't seem to find any football suspensions for a smallish scuffle, there pretty much has to be teeth on the ground. Here's the guy that stomped face for 30 stitches though, he got 5/16 of a season.
