Ramon F Sessions

We won't get rid of him despite how he's played. He's on a two year deal.

I had to check that to confirm it was true. Unfortunately It is. That could loom as an unfortunate mistake unless we can dump him to some team thinking of the player of the last few years, not the current one.

funny, this was a PDA move that was pretty well universally applauded as a bargain when it happened. I mean, not as in "funny ha ha" just... funny.

You really can't blame the signing.

I was going to find some numbers to backup that statement, but somebody did that for me. Basketball-reference allows people to purchase ad space on a players' page. Ramon's single NBA fan has apparently done so, so on Ramon's b-r page this message appears in the sponsor space:

Ramon closed out 2014 averaging 16/5/3 (PER of 18) in 28 gms for MIL...sadly, this went unnoticed. Currently in SAC, where Kings fans feel he's underperforming & believe his 13min/gm is more than enough to lead the NBA in scoring AND assists. Viva Ramon!

Amusing. but you can also see the numbers he was putting up just 6 months ago. The situation really does remind me of the JJ Hickson debacle. Hickson was an emerging NBA starter type guy, came to us, and was just awful. So we dropped him. At which point he resumed being an NBA starter type guy.

Some were really into some numbers he put up for Milwaukee last season, when they were one of the worst teams in the league. Those stats meant very little in the context of how they might translate to our team,... needing point guards who can initiate an offense and play defense.

Simply put, the guy doesn't fit...even if his game is at whatever his "average" used to be

Probably I am wrong but in all my time I don't think I have seen a pg who was so clumsy with the ball. It was quite shocking. He's ours for two years. Putting him down is too easy but I don't trust him on the court. Mpt with what I saw tonight. My medical background may lead me astray but seriously I wondered if he has a brain tumor. I have other thoughts also but I'm not going to wildly speculate.

He has a had a reasonably long career and that blows me away. How could guy with his problems last so long?

The thing is I don't think he is a ball handling PG, he's a slashing SG in a PG's body. If Nik can develop enough to bring the ball up and initiate the offense Sessions would probably be more useful. His ball handling is below average and his decision making is poor, he is quick and athletic though and I think his misses around the rim are an outlier. Thats if we can't unload him, the best case is we package him with D-Will for a good rotation player.

I agree with you.

Sessions needs a medical check-up. It is alarming (and almost shocking) that a very good PG will suddenly deteriorate and begin to show signs of consistent clumsiness with the ball however subtle it may be. He also seems to show poor control of his body and get's imbalance when he drives to the hoop. Oh well, it is very subtle but it could be a sign of a beginning neurological problem.

Any history of past substance abuse or any recent tragic history in Sessions family?

I think the Kings needs to be concerned of their player and begin helping him by doing a simple check if Sessions is using illegal drugs.

Kobe chased away Dwight, why wouldn't he chase away other players?

Dwight is a knucklehead. Kobe isn't interested in guy's acting the fool, or who really are foolish. Derrick Fisher was nowhere near ever being an All Star. Just a solid team player. As a result, never run out of town
