Sonics forward Radmanovic sidelined with stress fracture

March 18, 2005
SportsLine.com wire reports

[font=Arial, Helvetica]SEATTLE -- Vladimir Radmanovic, a valuable reserve forward for the Northwest Division-leading Seattle SuperSonics, has a stress fracture in his right leg and will be out 4-6 weeks.

Radmanovic's right leg will first be placed in a cast and then a walking boot. The injury is expected to heal without surgery.

The Sonics placed him on the injured list Friday and activated forward Damien Wilkens, who was on the injured list with right knee patella tendinitis.

The 6-foot-10, 227-pound Radmanovic, who was a member of the 2004 Serbia-Montenegro Olympic team, is averaging 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 29.5 minutes in 63 games. He is the Sonics' No. 3 scorer behind All-Stars Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, and hadn't missed a game all season.

He's a prolific 3-point shooter, making 128 in 329 attempts this season, his fourth in Seattle. He was the 12th overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft.

Radmanovic played in Seattle's loss at Detroit on Wednesday night, scoring nine points in 30 minutes. Radmanovic's injury will likely cause him to miss the rest of the regular season, which ends April 20.

The Sonics, with a 43-20 record, played Orlando at home Friday night.

Well, if Baron Davis is going to make 7 out of 10 three pointers, it doesn't matter who they're playing, they're going to win most of those games.

GSW was not a BAD team BEFORE the got Baron Davis, and as the Kings just saw they are now a prety good team.

I honestly CANNOT WAIT for the Suns to matchup against the Grizz in the first round...the Grizz have a GREAT chance to upsetting the Suns...thats gonna be some good basketball....the Grizz have had the Suns number so far this year...and i believe they are playing on Sunday....Grizz/Suns games are fun to watch...i remember the last time i watched a little bit of a Grizz/Suns game they got lil Steve Nash so upset he got tossed out of the game...i think Stromile Swift single handedly accomplished that...lol...oh i love it i love it

Vlad has been playing terrible lately so this may not be a bad thing. It gives Flip a chance to prove his worth. Many think he has not been given a fair chance this year.

Flip is a liability more than anything else. He might drop 20 pts somewhere along the line, but it wont come without the 4/21 FG beside it.

last night Flip had

25 points on 9/17 shooting and 9/13 from the line along with 5 boards.

mainly because ray got injured

last night we were without

Fortson
James
Allen
Radman

so our bench was a little weak.
