R.I.P. Adam Yauch (otherwise known as MCA of Beastie Boys)

I had to do a windows down, Beastie Boys LOUD cruise I am so upset about this. More B-Boy blasting later after work.

online obituary posted at http://beastieboys.com/...

as for my own personal eulogy:

nothin' but gratitude, MCA...

thank you for that effortless cool you used to bring balance to the beastie boys' three-headed dragon...

and thank you for those skull-rattling basslines that still haven't hit the ground from the moment you dropped 'em...

R.I.P.

Hadn't seen that video before, thanks for sharing. Man, that bass was epic.

you're welcome...

the beasties hold a very important place in the development of my artistic sensibilities...

i've been traveling down memory lane all damn day, dredging up some of their classic performances...

THIS is how you promote on late night talk shows:

one of the most raw television appearances i've ever witnessed...

Never was a huge fan but 47 is way too young to go for someone who lived right, RIP.

My band hastily re-worked Fight For Your Right to play at our show tonight in tribute. Shall be interesting.

Fight For Your Right went off pretty great, unfortunately our show could not be recorded for some reason.

At the Timbers match though the crowd did about 4 or 5 different Beastie chants and cheers, though we seemed to keep coming back to this one.

I know they also did one at Madison Square Garden.
