Comping stuff away from the casinos is bad for business. Casinos comp their big spenders to KEEP them in their establishments, not to provide them with entertainment away from the gambling...

Have to disagree with you VF.
My friends dad is an avid gambler at the Bellagio. He asked for, and received a penthouse suite and 8 tickets to the All Star game. Needless to say he is very happy and him receiving the tickets is one of the reasons he continues to spend his money at the Bellagio. This is a prime example of what every casino will do if/WHEN they get an NBA team. It will just be another way for casinos to make their VIP customers happy. A Vegas team will be a huge draw.

The way I understand it is he is expected to gamble a certain amount during his stay. If he meets his requirements he will continue to get pretty much whatever he wants. If he falls bellow his requirement they (the Bellagio) will stop meeting his demands. My friends dad far exceeds his gambling requirement so he continues to get primo gifts, i.e. All Star tickets and a penthouse during a sold out weekend.

BIG diference between tickets to an All-Star game and tickets to a regular NBA game...

Note: This thread is beginning to run parallel to the one with several current articles about the chances of the Kings or any other NBA team surviving in Vegas. Merging them would only further confuse things so I'm going to close this one and ask people to post their comments in the other one.

Thanks.
