DeMarcus Cousins enters beast mode.
So, this past week saw us lose two winnable games, and we got spanked by the Spurs. But hey, at least we beat the Knicks, right?

On to the rankings!

Sports Illustrated
#25 (-1)
Rudy Gay has been the biggest beneficiary of the George Karl era, averaging 23.6 points while shooting 48.5% from the field and an impressive 44.1% from deep. Getting Gay involved makes sense for Sacramento: the team is 9-1 in his 10 highest-scoring games and 1-9 in his 10 lowest.

Andre Miller, the oldest player in the NBA, wants another season. That passing skill doesn't fade.

Nik Stauskas hasn't had a big (or consistent) role in George Karl's rotation, but shot well (9-for-17, 4-for-8 from 3-point range) in short minutes last week. Of course, the Kings' defense has generally been terrible with Stauskas on the floor and was generally terrible in San Antonio, Orlando and Miami after they got an easy win in New York.

Turns out that just running up and down the floor at a faster pace doesn't help if you can't shoot or dribble or defend or pass. Who knew?

Former Nuggets coach George Karl said days before Brian Shaw was fired by Denver that he wasn’t taking satisfaction in the franchise’s struggles.

ESPN

One of the more interesting segments on the first-ever edition of the NBA Insiders show on ESPN Radio to exclude the committee (of one) featured Brian Windhorst noting that teams out there are already plotting their trade runs at DeMarcus Cousins in hopes that Boogie and his new coach don't mesh.

Just one more bit of evidence to prove why they're called BSPN.

to be fair, ESPN is reporting on the plans of other teams to try and coax demarcus cousins away from the kings, because who wouldn't want to try and trade for a superstar center if there is even the slightest chance that he might become available? that said, there has yet to be a legitimate report of the kings expressing any level of interest in entertaining such offers, and ESPN isn't reporting any such interest, either...
