It isn't Groundhog Day, but I swear I've seen this crap before.

Are we? Aren't we? Who knows. All I know is that I don't know.

Troy Daniels' game-winning three (preceded by a travel that wasn't called) was the end of the Kings' five-game winning streak and the start of a four-game losing streak in which they've allowed 110 points per 100 possessions. Despite that loss, they have as many wins against the Eastern Conference (10-7) as they do against the West (10-20), with nothing but East opponents going into the All-Star break.

Aw, Kings. They had so much momentum last week and seemed like things were working. Now they've lost four straight and DeMarcus Cousins' ankle is gimpy. Their defense gets distracted easier than a black lab. Shiny objects, loud noises, really anything and everything they're doing well just falls apart.

Losers of four in a row, and now DeMarcus Cousins could miss time with a sprained ankle (he is questionable for Monday). The Kings are 19-20 when Cousins plays this season (including a couple he had to leave early due to injury); they are 1-7 when he is out. Heavy run of Eastern Conference opponents coming up, can the Kings get wins there and get back into the Western Conference playoffs.

Hope we all enjoyed that while it lasted. Six straight wins into four straight losses dropped the Kings out of that cozy eight-hole, and a Boogie Cousins sprained ankle now makes salvaging the next week and a half especially critical. And for the record, they’re 1–7 without him.

What should be remembered as the best month of DeMarcus Cousins' NBA career -- 31.5 PPG and 12.9 RPG in January -- ended in such disheartening fashion. Boogie's play forced us to hike the Kings to a heady 14th last Monday, but he's suddenly dealing with an ankle sprain and a costly four-game skid that dropped the Kings out of the West's top eight as quickly as they got there.

Mean Ranking: 19.6

I like NBA.com's find about the Kings' East Conference record.
I didn't notice that, and it COULD bode well for us in the immediate future.
