I had something else queued up for today. Clearly, things are about to take a turn. In which direction? I honestly don't know.

Only the Kings' front office thinks Sacramento is underachieving this season. Maybe those expectations are a good thing long term, but they look silly in the short term. Replacing coach Mike Malone with Tyrone Corbin (on an interim basis) is an obvious downgrade.

The firing of Michael Malone was the most surprising December NBA moment in a while.

Lead in:
Speaking of dissatisfied teams shaking things up, the Sacramento Kings decided that Mike Malone wasn't doing a good enough job without his team's best player for the last nine games, or playing at a fast enough pace when one of the league's best post-up players was healthy. Same 'ol Kings, apparently.

Unrealistic expectations can be a killer. In Sacramento, they killed the tenure of Mike Malone, who was fired late Sunday night, because apparently, Vivek Ranadive thought he owned a playoff team. Nevermind that it's been missing its best player (by a wide margin) for the last nine games and hasn't actually lost any ground in that time.

Owner Vivek Ranadive and GM Pete D'Allessandro canned Mike Malone on Sunday night after the team was off to its best start in 10 years. Vivek's the master of doubling down on 12.

Owner Vivek Ranadive fired head coach Michael Malone on Sunday. Malone was hired in June 3, 2013, 15 days before general manager Pete D’Alessandro.

Mike Malone was fired with the Kings just one win shy of the .500 mark through 24 games for the first time since 2009-10. And with DeMarcus Cousins, still on the mend from a scary bout with viral meningitis, unavailable for the past nine games (2-7). There is only one word to explain all that: Vivek.

Vivek and Co. clearly taking a beating from the NBA world.

Dunno. But gee this organization can make this an unfun job. Again, actually been impresed by how much more on top of things these rankings have been than in years past. The difference may be just that for a brief month, people were paying attention to us. Unfortunately now everything seems to be crumbling and soon enough they should return to near randomness.

I'll have to commission that Power rankings Guru banner for you after all Spike. you're going to earn it. :)

This toes the line between schadenfreude and masochism, but I ain't givin' in!

This is exactly why I wipe my *** with Power Rankings, all the time. At least I keep it once hundred, though; I think power rankings are ****ing stupid when we're good, too. I have no regard for people who want to pay attention to power rankings, only as long as they say good things about their team.

So, propers for keeping this going: we (royal we) asked for this, and now we should have to eat it.
