There wasn't much to be thankful for. Apparently our holidays were mixed up, and we received more tricks, and very few treats. But hey, we're on to the easy part of our schedule, right? On to the rankings!

The Kings got a win (in Milwaukee) without DeMarcus Cousins, but have allowed more than 112 points per 100 possessions in the eight games he's missed, with Kosta Koufos unable to hold it down on that end of the floor. Via a combination of Cousins' injuries (and suspension) and the inconsistency of George Karl's rotation, no Kings lineup has played more than 38 minutes together.

The kings got one win with DeMarcus Cousins out, but that just makes them 1-7. His absence is part of the reason George Karl continues to jerk the lineups around. At least Rajon Rondo is putting up numbers.

It's a good time to note, with Dallas in town Monday, that Mavs castoff Rajon Rondo is averaging a tidy 13.0 PPG, 13.6 APG and 8.1 RPG in his last 10 games, though FTs (.375) are still a problem. The bigger issues for the Kings: DeMarcus Cousins has missed eight games for a Sactown squad that's a worrisome 1-9 against the rest of the West.

This team’s had a lot of issues, but the fact is whenDeMarcus Cousins misses eight of eighteen games, it hurts no matter who you are. Sacramento is 1-7 without its best player, currently out with a lower back strain, and a .500 team with him. The struggle continues.

Did you know the Kings are 5-5 when DeMarcus Cousins plays? Did you know this does not matter if he cannot get healthy? Did you know that the Kings somehow seem worse than their record but also somehow seem like they might be OK if DMC gets healthy? Did you know I'm stalling here because there are only so many ways to say "They suck without Cousins?"

Another great stat: 1.5 games out of the 8th spot. This time last year in the Western Conference, playoffs would have already been mostly out of the picture with the start that we have had, but yet here we are. Of all the teams vying for the 8th spot, we are the most talented, no doubt.
