--Making progress, but not there yet. Proof of that came Monday night as the Kings led most of the way but faltered late and lost a winnable home game to the Jazz. The future does seem bright, though, as Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins are playing well and avoiding off-the-court headlines.

--Coming out of a four-game stretch against the Lakers, Hornets, Celtics and Spurs with two wins ain't bad, but the Kings actually had a 10-point lead on Boston before losing that one on Tuesday. And the tough stretch doesn't end, with the Jazz, Mavs and Thunder at Arco this week.

--Three games left in a seven-game run in which every opponent is above .500. Then the Kings' kids play their next seven games on the road, stopping in Phoenix, OKC, Dallas, Miami, Orlando, Charlotte and Memphis. Yikes.
