“They played well but Ray Allen is the one that got them in the game. He got on fire and he really took control of the game. We got a good effort but we just didn’t do enough things down the stretch.”
“We had a chance to win. You try to get a chance to win the game in the fourth quarter on the road. We had a chance to be there but you know, we missed a couple shots. We missed a couple free throws. They made their opportunities happen. One time, I think we were ahead and we couldn’t get a rebound. They got three of four offensive rebounds in a row and that really hurt us. it was a good effort and we’ve got to respond tomorrow.”
“I was trying to get a two or a three…I didn’t want to cal a timeout. I thought we could have got to the basket on that play. I didn’t want them to organize their defense and I wanted to get the ball in Bibby’s hands but that happened late. He had an open look at it…Maybe more open than that three he had before. In that situation we are trying to get a good shot and not let them set their defense up. We had opportunities to drive, I thought, but that didn’t happen.”
“You have to really concentrate on him. He’s a really hard cover. You have to keep showing on him. What it comes down to with a great player is a lot of times he’s missing shots or he’s making them. In the second half, he made shots.’
Mike Bibby
“We played well. You know we were up by two with a minute left and they got three or four offensive rebounds. When we do little things like that it hurts.”
“It was tough but we have to move on. It’s not easy to take a loss especially when we had little lapses when we needed it. Loose balls and situations throughout the game…Knock those out and we win by more than that.”
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
“It is disappointing because it was a tough loss. A hard fought loss. A ball bounces here or there. Keep them off the glass here or there. We make a shot here or there and maybe the game is different. We have to turn around and respond and go play San Antonio at home and go out and get us a win.”
“Things happen like that in this league. Anybody that plays the game knows that you take enough of those free throws. If you are in that situation enough you know that you are gonna make some or you are gonna miss some. Sometimes it’s just the bounce of the ball.”
