Post your thoughts SAC/SAS 8/25

Can't win when only 2 players show up. Can't win when we turn the ball like that. The only player without a TO was Kim Smith! ooops...she DNP. What a way for NP to follow up her game 1. Got virtually nothing from Chelsea, Scho, NP, and Adrian. Silverstars out hustled us. Defense was bad. When the lead was big, we should've tried harder on defense, instead, the defense seemed to get worse.

Hopefully we'll outhustle them in game 3. I heard coach hughes say, we need to match their intensity in game 3, well I say, we need to have MORE INTENSITY than them in game 3 if we want to win this.

This one was ugly from the jump

PLAYER OF THE GAME - Marie Ferdinand Harris
Just when you thought Ferdinand was a non factor on this club, she jumps up and bites Sacramento in the arse with 17 big points off the bench and 5 steals. She was the key wihout question.

PLAY OF THE GAME - Ferdinand-Harris' at the end of the half drive and one to just crush the spirit of the Monarchs.

KEY STATISTIC - (tie) Nicole Powell 1-9 shooting:mad: . That right there says it all. If Powell is not scoring, Sac does not even have a chance to win. Fast Break Points - San Antonio 19, Sacramento 3. Turnovers were pretty even.

Two intangibles that I come away with. The official attendance of this game was 5,735. How can that be? So the crowd should not be a factor come Monday night. Secondly, Coach Jenny was coaching, encouraging, instructing until the final buzzer. Very good to see.

I am still encouraged, and feel we can get the job done Monday night. If Sacramento can re-light their defensive intensity, the game will be close, and it comes down to who executes the best in the fourth quarter.

circadian rhythm isues ...

10 am PST tipoff? I know I was still asleep ... I think the M's hd a fight with their own internal biological clocks, and the clocks won ... that should not be a problem on Monday ...

certainly the biological clocks would affect them....but the silverstars dealt with it too: 11am MST tip off.

Can't wait for Monday when we lay the smackdown on SA.:D

In response to uncommonclay: it was 12n CST....my bad.

Monday will be a fierce battle. JennyBoo will have our ladies ready. Hopefully, they will respond with an all out effort.

GO MONARCHS!!

I'm nearing being ready to turn the page on this one...shots again didn't fall and the defense wasn't nearly as good, and the intensity/aggressiveness wasn't there.

As it seems we've said all year, the monarchs need to figure things out and find themselves Monday. For some reason I have faith that will happen, and they, like us, don't want to have their run end this way.

I am not surprised the Monarchs were as sluggish as they were...I have had the misfortune to fly Southwest Airlines to San Antonio, and it is the most exhausting in-country flight I have ever taken. I am 5'4" and feel TOTALLY claustriphobic on the flight--can't imagine how anyone taller would feel. Usually from SMF to SAN it is 8-10 grueling hours. They looked like they had no life in them.

Even Koz & Krista were wondering why the Maloofs couldn't break out the Kings jet for the Monarchs to use--at least during the playoffs.

I expect there will be plenty of life AND fight in them come Monday night!

Come on Monarchs--bring it! We want to see you all again at Arco this season:D

I had to miss this one , did sneak away for lunch, while at work.
Listened to Koz & Krista for the last 5 min. before half time. We were down by 18? What I heard was not pretty. They talked turnovers, mistakes, & Sac. not getting back on D'' It was alot of Hammon & Marie F. taking it to us.
I do beleive we can bounce back. But, we must get our big guns to score & get Yo & Brunson going. Who wants it more..?.I hope our Sacramento Monarchs can find that fire & break the jinx of not winning in San Antonio.

Cuz if not...vacation begins & some of our players head off for other great adventures & we fans get ready for other hoop games:cool:
I'm not ready for the ride to end...are we better?

Come on Monarchs it's time to dig deep & play like there's no tomorrow.
We'll be gathering to holler all the way to Texas!
