Sorry this is just my take. hope all you didnt get to sad, but look at it like this
Flip Sanders is on the out wit the players and it has to be a huge let down to go down in 6 after being up 2-0. They mentioned (TNT) that the players expressed their anger with some of the coaching during a players only meeting before they were sent fishing. My best guess with the way coaches are getting picked up quickly now. Is that if Det Does make any changes it would be for moving Flip out and makeing Porter the man. Someone on here made mention that they noticed that Porter looked more active during this series and that he was very involved in talking with the players.
this looks like the smartest and quickest fix for Det. if they make a coaching change.
I think that SVG is going to be the man here in Sac Town. by the sounds of it he was quoted as saying "this is just the start of it" after the face to face meeting with the Maloofs. I honestly dont know how we could pass on him with the improvement he made after taking over heat that first season. it just doesnt seem fair to compair him to the other coachs were look'n at. I think he will be a great fit. A defense first coach thats not afraid to juice the offense..... lol ! i think hes well aware of Geoff P's desire to have a free flowing offense to showcase his offense first players. And theres no huge pressure to make this a 50+ win / playoff team right away. best place for SVG to be.
