Places to see in Austin, TX

Hi there. I'm taking my Dad to visit relatives in Austin, TX this Saturday and was wondering if anyone could recommend places of interest for me to see while there. I haven't been back for 16 years so any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated. Hoping to squeeze in a little sightseeing while there. We'll only be there a week.

there are tons of things to do here in Austin. Everything ranging from museums (a new modern art museum just opened this past weekend too) to the Texas capitol, awesome mexican food and of course tons of live music venues. there are also plenty of lakes and landscapes to enjoy. you may wanna check out austin360.com for some info on upcoming events and more details about austin you may be looking for. a week is hardly enough time to experience austin in its entirety but you will definetely enjoy yourself. austins youthful vibe is pretty electric. pm me if you would like any specific suggestions.
