Pistons-Pacers Round 2 (merged)

Pistons-Pacers Round 2

Pacers went up 9-2 and since then Pistons have gone on a 19-4 run to end the 1st quarter. I think the Pistons are back.

Note: I edited the title of your thread so people can use the same one for the remaining games. :D

I'm torn. I'm watching Star Trek: Insurrection and can't seem to pull myself away to watch the early parts of the P-P game. I'll most likely just check in towards the end. That's when it's the most exciting anyway.

;)

Pacers went on a mini run in the last couple minutes but a 3 pt play put Detroit back up and they go into Half up by 13. Bench for detroit has played great and McDyess has been great.

This was the key game in that series. I hate to say it but Reggie's going to be going fishing permanently soon and he will be missed. I hope I'm wrong.

The Pistons rocked yesterday. Chauncey was the man with Sheed not far behind. What a game. That was Pistons basketball. They got a little toooooo unselfish a few times, passing the ball too much and causing turnovers but oh well. They won and I am happy. GO PISTONS!!!!

sheed's gaurantee worked for the 2nd year in a row.

nice to see them win, this is a really intresting series, i think it'll go down to the wire.

Pistons / Pacers - game 5

Pistons open up the second half with a 15-0 run over the first 6+ minutes of the third quarter. Indiana finally scored 5 in a row, but the deficit is now 17 for the Pacers.

The way they closed the first half it was obvious they weren't going to lose tonite unless they fell apart. Pacers just had no answers.

It was beautiful. Arroyo was on fire. He fits in rather nicely. Big Ben was playing his ball. Tayshaun was hitting them and blocking them. It was PRETTY!!! One more boys.

Pistons / Pacers - game 6

Pacers are going to need a big effort in the final 4 minutes to overcome a three point deficit against the Pistons.

Reggie showing up huge in potentially his last game with 24 points on 10 of 13 shooting. JO'Neal has showed up, but only scored one point for every shot he's taken. Tinsley, S.Jackson and others have not really helped much.

Rick Carlisle brings Reggie out with 15 seconds left so the Indiana fans can give him a proper goodbye. In what has to be the classiest move I've ever seen as far as the NBA goes, Larry Brown calls a time out so his team can come to the sidelines and also give Reggie a salutation. I'm actually in tears...

And in Conseco Fieldhouse the crowd is standing and chanting "Reggie! Reggie! Reggie!"

Wow.

Play resumes, the Pacers miss a shot and the Pistons run out the clock.

Reggie, you will be missed...

That was really special. It probably the best tribute i've seen for a player because it was so impromptu and it just came from the heart of everyone there. I'm so sad to see him go, especially because he never won a championship and he's such a great person.

I have to disagree with it being "sad." Every athlete has to retire sooner or later. This was class all the way down the line - by the players, the fans and even the officials. Bennet Salvatore even came up and gave Reggie a hug.

I would like to have been able to see Doug, Vlade or Chris leave like that...

^^VF, by sad i mean i got real sad to see him go. the event was not "sad" cause it was most definitely great. but i'm sure a lot of people are really really sad to see him go.

i also wish vlade, doug, and chris could retire like that.

Gotcha... He went out in style. You sure can't ask for much more than that. ;)

Now Pacers are out, I don't like any of the teams left so who to root for?? i'll probably go with the Suns but that may change next week. I like Ginobli.
