Phantom foul on Melo in Lakers vs. Nuggets game

Really... there was really no way the Nuggets were going to be able to win 3 in a row against the lakers at LA. The NBA that we know wouldn't allow it.

Granted, the nuggets did commit TOs in the 2nd half. But the battle between Melo and Ron was obviously bias. The only way the Nuggets could win the game is if they beat the lakers by so much that bias calls won't even matter.

Btw, kobe stunk up the joint but they just say he is trying to help his teammates. Yes he got double digit assist, but he did take a bunch of shots and missed a ton. Forced a lot of shots even when his touch wasn't there.

Shoulda been a reach in on Ron. That made me laugh.

Its all good. Nugs will kill em in the playoffs, heard it here first.

(And even if they dont, Mavs will. No repeat for the Fakers)

From your fingertips to Naismith's ears.

I want to see a clip of this.

Go to around 8:20 in the clip. Then watch the slow mo that comes after. Ron was bodying Melo up and has his arms in front of his body. Melo was just coming through for position to get the ball. Didn't elbow or push. Just kind of wanted to flick ronron's arm off himself. Its just a stupid 6th foul.

A side note would be that Kobe's DEFENSE is grossly OVERRATED. He almost never guards any of the best perimeter players on the other teams. He'll do it for a few plays here and there but thats about it. A lock down dominate defender that kobe is made out to be... should be locking down the best players the whole game. Its so funny everytime I hear the media talking about "kobe... dominates on the offensive end and locks down the best player on the other team".

Its more than because saving his energy for offense. Thats ok but don't lie and say he locks down the best player on the other team when he never does. I've seen Wade guard kobe himself for 3 quarters of the game. I've seen Lebron guard kobe for most of the game but kobe doesn't guard Lebron. Kobe "hides" behind Ron Ron now. Before that there was Ariza... and before that they used Devan George.

Kobes defense is beyond overrated. He always had shaq to make up for his mistakes back in the day. He's not terrible, but he's not first team caliber by any means

I am as big of a Kobe hater as anyone, but does anyone remember the Olympics? He was basically always put on the opposing teams best perimeter guy and usually did a good job locking him down while leaving the offense mostly to LeBron, Wade, and Melo.

I have Melo in my fantasy team, and he's been downright atrocious the past few weeks or so. This isn't a fluke--he's just in a slump. Ron just took advantage.

That doesnt say much since international teams are centered around playing team ball.

Not only that, but he gets so much leeway on the defensive end its amazing.

He hacks, reaches, and hits every opponent he guards. He doenst have fundamental defense because he understands the fact that he is a superstar who will get superstar treatment.

But, that is why I despise him. He gets away with everything on defense, yet when he gets touched on the offensive end, he cries like no other.

Yet, the guy has the audacity to proclaim that he would love for the NBA to return to the physical 80's days. The guy is full of **** to the fullest degree.

So who were these top perimeter players that he locked down? The best perimeter players in the world are all kobe's teammates. Any other perimeter player in the Olympics for the other teams are just average NBA players, at best. Many and most of them aren't even good enough to make the NBA.

kobe is an average defensive player. He has good lenght and size so he can defend average players well. Has anyone seen kobe lock down Wade, lebron... Melo? Heck even phil jackson admited they got Ron because kobe can't guard Melo.

One day Tyreke Evans will be the one people are gushing about and other fans will be saying how over-rated his defense is and how he gets away with fouls etc etc...

It's all part of superstar treatment from refs and the media. It's not kobe's fault that up till now we haven't had our own superstar (other than Webber, but big men usually don't get the same hype as wing players) and that we're a small market. If you want to blame anyone, blame the media.

problem is, the same words come out of his mouth too

He's always trying to point out that his defense is the most underrated part of his game.

Kobe is a dirty player on the defensive end who always cheats his defensive assignments by taking advantage of his superstar treatment.

He's not clutch, either. The 12 assists were overrated, too (he took a lot of shots). Let me think of some other stuff too.

Cop out. Kobe and Phil Jackson wollow and squeal like little pigs in the golden trough the media AND the NBA have created for them. They might not be responsible for creating it, but they enjoy the hell out of it and take advantage at every opportunity-the whole while crying for more special treatment.

WOW, that's been building for a while. Time to make an appointment with Dr. Phil. :D
