I agree with the verdict, but was certain that we would have another OJ case on our hands. Although, we still may. With two jurors being excused during the deliberation, Petersons attorneys certainly will try for a appeal based on those dismissals. Don't be surprised if he wins the appeal. It isn't exactly the norm to excuse two jurors during the deliberation.

I believe that Peterson is guilty, but I just don't see compelling evidence to convict him of murder-one with special circumstances. I think they convicted him because he is a certified a-hole, and the jury clearly hated him. They even ran-off the would-be lawyer on the jury for delaying the decision. That's rich!

There was ten-times more circumstantial evidence in the O.J. trial. The Peterson case really involved "implied" evidence. Oh well, I guess if you are going to murder your wife and others, do it in Los Angeles and hire Johnny Cochran.

But that's why there are alternate jurors in the first place. You can't have a judicial procedure in place and then disagree with it when it is used, just because it didn't work out the way you wanted it to.

I don't know how anyone on the outside can look at a case like this and not hope for a not-guilty verdict. One would like to think that a person is not capable of taking the life of another person, let a lone a husband of that of his wife's and unborn child. But, reality is, this world isn't perfect and I don't expect the jury to be either-it would be almost impossible for any of them not to think of Scott Peterson as not "a good guy."

The prosecution did a great job picking jurors and I think the defense dropped the ball big time. Peterson didn't exactly help his cause with all the things he did and all of the lies he told. This thing is however, its all far from being over. Its a "bifurcated trial" right now and the defense will most certainly challenge the verdict, not to mention if the death penalty is chosen, there is an automatic review of the case.

I pray for everyone involved, hope that the families have some sort of closure and are able to now remember Lacy as she was and not as what was done to her.

And this thread is being closed. As with the Arafat thread, it's not that anyone has said anything wrong - it's just policy.
