Pete D'Allesandro

He deserves credit, but in order of who is responsible for this season I'd go:

1- KJ / Vivek (with assist by Burkle)
2- DMC for playing like a monster (Petrie and Team USA get some credit here too)
3- Malone for building an impressive system, putting guys into roles that work, creating a real offense, implementing a good defensive system, and overseeing a positive and functional locker room. I think he also gets credit for a lot of personnel moves, and am 100% positive that he was a big motivating force in letting IT go based on locker room and in-the-huddle knowledge
4-PDA, acquiring Gay and signing Collison. These are critical, but simply don't work without the above

In other words, I believe in the Kings management TEAM. Not sure why we have to single out individuals for praise and blame, especially because we don't know how a lot of the key decisions (particularly Tyreke, Gay, IT, and Collison) were made

Ah, but Malone wouldn't have been able to "put guys into roles that work" if PDA hadn't gone out and secured them. ;)

That's fair. We still have a team, I haven't forgotten how perilously close we came to losing it. We're quickly running out of superlatives to describe what DeMarcus Cousins can do on a basketball court. And that includes his leadership this year as well. All the coaching in the world means nothing if your star players don't buy in and Cousins is quickly transforming into one of the most likable stars in the league. I'm loving every minute of it! And Coach Malone is a night and day difference from all the men who held his position since Adelman left. All of these guys deserve a ton of credit for sure! But I think VF is right to send a little bit of love Pete's way as well. He's taken a lot of flak from the fans in a short amount of time. Letting Tyreke Evans go was a very unpopular move. Letting Isaiah Thomas go was nearly as unpopular. But we don't get to this current team any other way. Second guessing front office moves is a popular hobby around here -- I'm not going to pretend like I've liked every move Pete has made but you can't argue with the results. I wouldn't have done it this way, but I love watching this team play so there you go. Turns out I don't know everything after all.

Last year off season was about F.
It is very difficult for me to go over shortsightedness of not including Tyreke as a second franchise cornerstone, signing Landry and passing on Lopez. No vision except if lack of vision counts as one.

Getting Rudy for peanuts was a great move. I doubt that Toronto would refuse IT instead of Vasquez for him giving us Reke-Rudy-Cousins, but that boat had sailed.

I applaud guttsiness of letting IT go.
I did like Caspi signing, and did not know enough about our 2 new PGs.

Jury is still out about Pete as visionary, but if Kings are in fight for playoff at the end of this year, though I would focus more on Magical Malone I can include Visionary Pete too :-)

Getting Reggie for Empty was a crazy deal as well, we got rid the last few remaining cancerous cells to get tough vet's you got to respect and that will go out and compete for you.

Nice article by Dan Karpuc about our Kings.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dan-k...ing-_b_6116642.html?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592

The article says:

"Sacramento Kings Proving to Be Quite Royal"

Emperor: DeMarcus Cousins (C)
The king of all kings. So far this year, Cousins has established himself as perhaps the best all-around center in the NBA, averaging 24.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. His low post ability on offense forces double teams or forces defenses to collapse, allowing him to either finish in traffic or kick it out to one of his teammates. Defensively, he is a menace, and constantly and consistently alters shots. As emperors decided the path of their kingdoms, Cousins' play will either carry this team to new heights or force them to stumble back to mediocrity.

Knight: Rudy Gay (SF)
Rudy Gay has been very noble in his own right this season. Leading the team with 24.4 points per game, he has also brought down 6.2 rebounds and recorded 2.4 assists. He is shooting lights-out from downtown (58.3 percent) and from the field in general (52.1 percent). While the part of trades in recent years due to his gigantic salary, Gay has been one of the most consistent scorers in the league, and joins Cousins as one of the two most important members of the royal court.

Musician: Darren Collison (PG)
A solid musician can get people up and dancing and keeps a solid rhythm. Collison has provided a metronomic beat to Sacramento's offense this season and is the unquestioned primary ball-handler. He has picked a song to play for everybody, spreading the ball around the court, as evidenced by his 6.8 assists per game, which leads the team by 4.4 assists per. When he has to perform a solo, he has been able to hold his own, as he also averages 15.0 points per game as well.

And so on.......................

How in hell could we missed winning at least 41 games this season, because of the above?

I'd be curious to see how many technicals Boogie has since Evans arrived. I think we finally found that vet to guide boogie. And that's Evans biggest role, as Boogie backup dancer. Heck, reggie can retire and I'd be willing to keep him as a coach at this point.

And hollins is Mateen cleaves, of course. Still not sure why he doesn't play. I think he will eventually be a nice piece to have, cause he's like, tall and stuff.
