Jeez people, can't the frickin infighting, bickering, pissing and moaning stop in a WIN at least?

As far as peja is concerned. Doesn't anyonne recall that he just missed several weeks because of an injured back. a bad BACK. Does anyone remember what happened to Pollard with a bad back? How about David Robinson? Its just POSSIBLE that a bad back might influence a players play a little. hmmmm.

let the bitterness go,it'll make your breath stink a little less

It's been a good month since the last game he supposedly missed because of the back -- that excuse can't be trotted out for him forever. And it was hardly a chronic injury. But there always seems to be some excuse made for Peja when he fails. Its his teammate's fault, his coach's fault, the ref's fault, he's got a boo boo, he's got a baby, there was a gust of wind, the sun rose in the East...no idea what was up tonight, but in the absence of any injury report or even visible wince, how about the very simple "he sucked" which would be used to describe any other professional athlete, or just adult male for that matter.

I agree, if only he could have gotten his shots to fall last night, I don't think the Kings would have needed to struggle so hard to get that win.

He has got to get it together for this next game. No way we beat the Rockets without him.

Since Webber left Sacramento he isn't C-Webb which we knew and same we can say for Peja. So,obviosly, the fact is that Peja and Webber can't work without each other :D
This maybe sounds funny, but if you take care of stats, you'll see...
I hope that both this guys will finally start showing their real quallity!

If it was one game, then fine: He just sucked.

OR if he had never been any good, then fine: He just sucks.

but frankly he just hasn't been up to his usual standards for a while (this season). Moving without the ball USED to be one of his single biggest strengths, he did it better/more than almost any other player in the league. The question isn't what he is capable of (he is capable of being an incredibly useful cog in a well oiled machine, he probably will Never be capable of carying a team, or being THE man, that is just not his game, never has been likely never will)

The question that needs answered is WHY isn't he playing as well as he has proven he is capable of. Asking this question isn't the same as asking for an excuse, its asking for a reason, WHY? (which would then then lead to the question what can be done about it) There are a couple of possible answers:

1. he is not all there physically,
2. he is not all there mentally (his wife and baby),
3. he is not all there in spirit (he is pouting)

people here seem to have jumped on answer number three as the reason, or perhaps there is another reason that Peja's shortcomings, which have been readily apparent for years now, have suddenly become urgent issues, viewed as subjects of sneering indignation and in some cases apparent vitrolic dislike. Peja has ALWAYS been a "soft" (finesse) player. Are the people who are foming at the mouth criticizing him just now coming to that realization? Or are they blaming Peja for Webber being traded?

Many of the same people who thought Webber was getting an unfair rap, and vehemently defended him, are now turning around and going too far criticizing Peja. I think BOTH Webber (first) and Peja (now) have kinda been shafted by the "fans".

Calm down folks, we don't live in Philly (thank god).

Basically this board (and Sac fans in general) have just become less enjoyable and more whiny. I suppose it may be inevitable, living near the top of the league for a few years without actually making it alll the way.

Who knows?

I think we're seeing what happens when you basically take the summer off (not that he sat around eating pizzas with Shawn Kemp or anything). Peja didn't work on his game this summer and didn't stay in the great shape he's usually in. If your conditioning slips, you will get injured and you will play less aggressively. This is exactly what has happened to Peja this year, with the back and the hamstring. Lately, he's taking too many fadeaway three pointers. In fact, last night his only too buckets came off that type of shot.

So basically, I think we're going to see Peja have games like this from here on out. A swingman doesn't just play himself into shape during the season. It might work for a guy like Vlade or Shaq, but Peja is going to continue to struggle unless he finds a way to score without exerting much energy.

Though I agree about the over change in the board, for better or for worse, we are no different than any other fan base in the NBA. The only difference is that we were slow in our developement because for so long the product on the court wasn't exactly up to par and the correlation between the two couldn't be made with the exception of full out right exuberance that we had a sports team of our very own.

Folks can keep making excuses for Pedja as long as they like and it will NOT change the fact that he is just not getting the job done this year. He has had very few "good" games and not one game whre he was just dominant. I for one hesitate to explain this situation, but I recogignize that he is just not performing and it is HIS responsablity as a player to adress this. As a fan who loves this team I want to Kings out tehre palying their hearts out win or loose, and I just can't help but be very disapointed in Pedja's play this year, and no I don't think I sould "give him a break."

Calm down, Doc; I think you're overreacting a trifle.

Stojakovic, as has been mentioned before, has taken a lot of heat for his comments/actions over the summer, both his trade "demands" and his lack of work on his game. He is also inextricably linked, right or wrong, with Webber's trade to Philadelphia; there has been, for the better part of the past two seasons, a very vocal contingent of fans who have felt that Webber was holding him back, so now that Webber is gone, many of us are waiting to see this Stojakovic that all the fuss was about.

Personally, I think that the sniping is fair, as long as people keep it from being personal; when Webber was the best player on this team, he had to accept criticism about every aspect of his game, everything that he did, or didn't do. Well there are some people who seem to feel that Stojakovic is the best player on the team, which should rightly subject him to the same degree of criticism. Personally, I've never thought that he was the best player on the team, but that's neither here nor there.

You have to expect criticism, Doc; this team has been utterly and completely overhauled in the past seven months, particularly in the last month or so. There's going to be some backlash; there's simply no way around it. I'm sure that, once we've been given an offseason to grok the fullness of all the changes, most people around here will be fine.

Thanks, Honorable Shellback! ;)

I think that's one of the best summaries of the situation I've seen.

And I like the "grok" reference, too.

That was perfectly worded and perfectly weighted argument. Of course, I agree too.

Hey, hey. What's that supposed to mean? Don't knock it til you try it. If you've never lived in Philly, how would you know what it's like to live there?

He was referring to Philly 76er fans. It was subtle humor.
