overheard laker fan chatter

i was having lunch at downtown plaza's food court. there was some dallas-okc stuff on the tv screen. next to my table were2 guys talking nba. they started talking about the lakers.. my ears perked up. they were saying how they got robbed in the gasol trade because they traded the better gasol (marc).. a true legit 7 footer. the conversation went on with them saying they got f'd by the refs in the dallas series (seriously, i couldn't believe i was hearing this). next and finally that just made me shake my head was that they were getting howard AND cp3 next year. lol lakers fans are delusional. the said they would pawn off bynum, walton and a few other bench scrubs for howard.

it will be a complete farce if they get howard but i do feel its is likely. Big market teams have the clear advantage here and i feel howard wants a move. Its nothing to bank on but i think he wants to get into acting at some point and im sure the bright lights of hollywood would appeal to him

Yeah, I live in Lakers land too, and 99.99% of the fans are idiots...

...Ok, maybe that was a bit high.... 99.95% of the fans are idiots.

They have been spoiled by the league though. Whenever they want a great player they seem to get them. I dont think they're getting Howard though. Orlando probably doesnt want to be seen as a Lakers farm team. Bynum is a great center, maybe 2nd best in the league (which shows how bad the position is these days), but he has injury concerns. Howard wants to go to Brooklyn, and the Nets can probably put together a better package than the Lakers (Lopez + legit goodies vs Bynum + trash).

As far as CP3.... Isnt Paul to NY pretty much a done deal? I thought he and Melo made an agreement a la Wade/Bron/Bosh to join forces on the Knicks.


Re: Lakers fans complaining about officiating, yeah I heard that too. My reaction was to do a really hammed up "spit take" with my beer, followed by hysterical laughter for the next 3 minutes.

it was definitely a sense of entitlement. he's like psh, we lost this year but we're getting dwight howard and cp3 along w/ kobe and another 2-3 more championships. i've read their comments on their forum but hearing it in person.. lol. i had to leave cuz i couldn't take more laker talk

CP3 would most likely go to the Knicks. Lakers would probably make a run for DWill and Dwight. This i heard from chatter from workplace not Laker fans though.
