That's a good one. He does have a distinct look in his eye this season. It's there on the court and in his interviews. You look into his eye and there's no doubt the guy is locked and loaded

The funny thing is that he's been like this for a while already. He is a good player with a good head to play team ball. Even when he has a weak scoring night, he never hurts the team. I give a lot of this to Mike Malone for seeing how Casspi needs to be used (contrary to a line of coaches before him). Malone hardly knew Casspi before the training camp, but in no time did he realize how he will cash in on Casspi. Great coaching (not only concerning Casspi).
What's the best way to cook crows?
Should I fry them?
Broil them?
I have to admit I was so wrong on Casspi. I thought he wouldn't be able to change his game and improve at all. His effort on both ends of the floor is unbelievable and it is rubbing-off to the rest of the team.

Oh, forgot to say this. Omri is a good friend of DMC and JT from the previous Kings stint. They clearly are the royalty of the team. It is great to see how other great players like Gay, Collison, BenMc etc. are buying into the club. You got to love this team. I don't even care when they drop an already won game. I simply love the concept.

I brought up a point that Omri is bringing a swag to our team on the Kings Facebook page. He is. I made fun of him his first stint, called him No Passpi Casspi. But that was a different culture. This current culture fits his game. We tried to make him a 1 on 1 player and all he did was fire up 3s. Now we have a team culture. Led by the All Star All NBA best center In the league Cousins. And Casspi is reinforcing big Cuz. They're homies and you can tell. I haven't seen and team in Sac town that enjoys playing together as much since Bibby was brought in. This is so cliche on this website(Thanx VF) but we are really on the verge of something special. We won't be competing for a playoff spot going into the new arena. We will be primed for a championship run when it opens. That's ****ing nuts!

Every team in the league could use a player like him.
Other than "he didn't fit the square hole we wanted him to fit into", what did Casspi not have that teams wanted?
His physicality, playmaking abilities, speed, and BB IQ are quantities desperately needed all over the league....

Great point, Man! I could understand what happened to him in the SAC at the time and even in Cleveland, but how did the Rockets miss him. I've respected Morey, but obviously McHale did not understand it all. Maybe I should put it in another way. Maybe Howards and especially Hardens style didn't let McHale utilize those handles.

I have to agree. I am growing to love his play. He hustles, is quick and long. He leaves other players in the dust when he runs. I would extend his contract with the way he is playing.
Both Cavs and Rockets tried to turn in him into primarily a standstill shooter on offense. Omri hits FT at a great rate all of sudden, so developing a long-range shot is probably still not out of question for him (he was actually at .350 for his career coming into the season, which is just below league average of .360). Anyway shooting is obviously not his strength as his outside shot has relatively low release point, so Omri needs to be wide open to hit it consistently. But his combination of quickness, length, touch and toughness is more than enough to be an opportunistic inside scorer.
As for his adventures over this summer: he was on non-guaranteed contract in Houston for this year, and was sent out in Asik trade. Omri and his agent glanced over Pelicans roster, and saw a bunch of ball-dominant guards, so it was back to the same role he had in Cleveland and Houston. He asked to be released, and Pelicans did late in July, when a lot vacancies even for backup SF jobs were filled. Plus playing for NT last few years Omri developed a reputation of starting strong and fading late into the season (that's a concern this season regarding Boogie and Rudy as well). In the end Casspi and his agent looked around the league and figured, Kings were the best team to get him minutes. Fans are quick to forget it like a bad dream, but Omri was behind Williams on depth chart to start the season.

How big is Casspi in Israel? Casspi is very big sports athlete in Israel, playing in the NBA is not very evident, Casspi was for 4 years the the only Israeli player in the NBA until Gal Mekel made it to the league as well, I think lot's of Israelis would choose Casspi as the best athlete in Israel.
The main sport for the Israelis is no other than soccer, since Israel is a Middle-Eastern country soccer is more interesting here rather than basketball, but if to be honest Israel is way better in basketball than it is in soccer, Israel is consistently qualifying to European basketball tournaments, while the Israeli soccer national team never made it to the European football championship and only made it once to the soccer world cup in 1970 at Mexico.
Most Israelis are interested in soccer, but the second best sport here is obviously basketball.
His ball handling and defense were poor and he couldn't make his free throws at a reasonable rate. It's pretty amazing he suddenly developed these skills. I have no idea how that happened.

Their style of just launching 3 after 3, didn't allow these new skills of his to surface. Our team's systems on both ends of the floor seems ideal for the kind of player has has matured into

I must admit that I was not impressed with the signing of Omri at the beginning of the season, however, they way he has been playing, the Kings got a steal in getting him.

It's mostly mental. When a player gets a chance to play in a system that fits his game, confidence and just generally enjoying the process comes along,....next thing you know, everything else seems to get better as well.
