official BMX and skating thread

I rode BMX well into my 20s but have pretty much given it up now. Still watch the stuff on tv when I see it but always preferred riding natural street and watching the real trails to the contests.

Do you ride? My last bike was a Standard STA. I still have it but I guess its a total dinasour since they finally figured out how to make a bike light and strong.

yes i do i got a mirra co bike about 28 pounds aahah... you did street or vert both??
STA is like 40. I was never particularly skilled but was fortunate to make some pretty good friends which lead to some cool street rides whenever pros came to Boston in the late 90s. My favorite was a long weekend spent riding with the Standard team when they were making their Domination video. Man I miss those days.

I got my first BMX when I was 7. Wanted to race but parents didn't really have the time to support that. Got into freestyle around 10 or 11, got a silly lavender freestyle bike around 12. Started mountain biking for a while and got back into street riding in college. I pretty much hung it up around 25 or so when I had a job that required full time travel. I still ride bikes though. Maybe when my son is old enough we will race together.
