Of the available players at Kings picks, who would you have picked?

I was very happy with the draft tonight, aside from passing on Rubio. I wouldn't have changed anything other than that.

If you're going to do this, why don't you include Evans who was pretty popular in our polls before the draft? Regardless, this belongs in the Personnel Moves forum...

I don't think you get the point of the thread... This isn't a poll.. It's a thread asking at #4 of EVERY available player in the draft who would YOU have picked.

Pick whoever you want of the available players at the specific picks. Basically you do Petrie's job.

And why would this go into personnel moves? It's not about trades or anything. It's basically asking what you would have done if you were Petrie.

4 Rubio
23 Casspi
38 Mills

I like Tyreke, but Rubio would have fit better.
I have always like Casspi an thought he had a chance of sropping to 23
Definately would have taken Mills, huge mistake in not taking him imo. I don't think you can pass on a player like him that drops so far.

It's in Personnel Moves because it's hypothetical and not actually about the team. It's really no different than the various trade proposals. It's "what if" and, to be honest, it's sour grapes from someone who is still clearly upset about Rubio not being selected. Put a poll on it and see what the response is but I don't think you're going to suddenly get a whole bunch of people voting any differently than they already have in the many draft discussions that went on before this afternoon.

sorry, Gary, but if you look at the poll on how people feel about the Evans draft, over 70% have answered "okay," "pretty happy" or "ecstatic" about getting Tyreke.

What I would have done differently:

#4: Evans/Rubio - I am very split here. I lean towards Rubio, but I don't have a problem with Evans either.

#23: Blair - Even though he ended up falling to the 2nd, and has the knee concerns, I still take him here. Toughness, rebounding, great big for us to have in the rotation. Like a longer and more talented Brockman really...

#38: Derrick Brown - Here we get our slightly undersized but long & athletic combo forward with potential.

If you're asking people to play armchair GM, you're really talking about something that belongs in the Personnel Moves thread.

As far as the rest goes, I'm not closing the thread. I just think it's duplicative and an attempt to validate your own disappointment. But that's just my two cents. I moved the thread to confirm with the basic concepts of having different forums. Feel free to continue to your heart's content.

Peace.

#4 Evans
#23 Blair/Mullens
#38 Brown

I love the Evans pick.

But at 23 we could have gotten a nice big to compliment Shock and Hawes, I know Blair has bad knees or whatever and Mullens dosen't really even like basketball, but they are still better then Casspi, and Jon Brockman.

At 38 WTF were they thinking. We had Patty Mills, Chase Budinger, and I can't bear to remind myself that Derrick Brown was available. But we chose Jon Brockman *blech*. Was Spencer's birthday today or something?

VF, just let something be for once. This is one of the most strict forums I have ever been part of, you're like a tyrant deciding which topics please you and which don't.

Back to topic:
#4 - Ricky Rubio
#23 - BJ Mullens
#38 - Nick Calathes

4 - Rubio (before the draft I wanted Ricky or Evans but didnt think RR would be available)
23 - Casspi
38 - Don't know or care much.. aside from more wings that wouldn't play i don't think anyone available will be in the league in 3 years. Sergio w/ our second is more than I could have asked for

#4 rubio
#23 casspi
#38 nick calathes

all international dream team hahaha-

i'm glad we picked evans. rubio has bust written all over him.

That has nothing to do with this thread, and your post does not either. It's not a "how do you feel" or whatever thread.. It's a who would you have drafted of the available players if you were Petrie.

#4 rubio
#23 either keep casspi or draft sam young
#38 mills or derrick brown (probably mills because we'd already have noc, garcia, greene, and either casspi or young)

Kind of like a lot of the basketball experts that seem to understand what our team is lacking.

The same "experts" that said we reached on Jason Thompson last year, and gave us D's and F's because we passed on "NBA ready" talents such as Darrell Arthur and Roy Hibbert?

#4 Rubi...heck no...EVANS! Get used to it people.
#23 Casspi
#38 who cares...

Ah another i wish we would have gotten Rubio thread. if you keep wishing something would have happened. Does it actually happen?

4. Rubio
23. Blair
38. Calathes

Ugh. Well, Sergio was my favorite for the Kings in the '06 draft...I'll take that at the very least...

This place is a little different than most others. We like it that way. A little more structured and "family" friendly. It isn't changing.

And, BTW, that is the purpose of a moderator - to moderate the threads. If something needs to be closed, moved to the appropriate forum, merged, etc., we do it. ;)

Hence the reason it belongs in Personnel Moves.

My selections would have been:

4) Rubio
23) Casspi
38) Probably Derrick Brown

The caveat here is that I'm no expert, and our front office is probably better at this sort of thing than I am.
