still, of his death, vonnegut would probably say something like, "i was 84, for goodness' sake. how much longer could you listen to the same old, surly man talk about the same old, surly things?"
vonnegut was a helluva writer, and his books were always genuinely thought-provoking. slaughterhouse 5 is definitely among the greatest pieces of modern literature. even though he has passed, he leaves a wonderfully rich legacy that will not be forgotten. he was a true american literary pioneer.
