Now's your CHANCE! Theus on KHTK

Instead of preaching to the choir on KF, go ahead and ask Theus about the kids playing time. Let your thoughts be known.

You can't let your thoughts be known on KHTK, except in extremely brief sound bites. Theus, again, did not really answer the question about Thompson's lack of playing time, except to say he wasn't playing that well, and then shifting to wanting to have his young big guys to be able to post on a regular basis. If that's the the test, then what about Miki posting on a regular basis? Of course Miki can't post up for the life of him so that's a moot point...Also telling was the fact that he put in Hawes because of the Salmons injury, not because he thought Hawes was better than Miki. So what happens when Salmons comes back? Does Hawes go to the bench? As Napier said, you could make an argument that Hawes has been the best player on the team.

He said he has multiple players which play 2 positions, so he said he's got to find a balance that "works", i.e. that is most productive on the floor. That tells me his objective is STILL about WINNING GAMES, and not developing the youth. He's looking for who is going to play the best, not developing the future despite the possibility of JT or Donte playing worse than Moore. If his objective of winning /competing supersedes the objective of developing the future, then that = FAIL as a coach in this year with this team. The objecting of developing should supersede everything on a lottery team that is rebuilding.

And he also said, "What do you want to do - play Kenny Thomas or develop the youth?" I say in reply to Theus, "What do you want to do? Play Miki Moore, or develop Jason Thompson?" He was playing it both ways. There was a whole lot of BS going on in that interview.

I could use some expletives, but, I'll refrain. Reggie is full of it. How could he tell if Jason was playing well in the first half. He wan't in long enough to tell. He said he wants the bigs to post up, but criticizes the way Hawes does it. I seldom see a play called for Thompson to post up, and thats mostly what he did in college

If a young player goes into the game and makes a few mistakes. replace him at the next timeout. Call him over and tell him what he's doing wrong and what you want him to do, and then put him right back in the game.

Good thing that Mike isn't the coach. He was trying to get Reggie to play Thomas. I'm not sure Mike knows whats going on with the Kings.
