Nocioni more friendly to the Kings

Yeah I remember that Chris didn’t want to be here; he even didn’t show up to a couple practices.

Um, wrong. Webber didn't want to get on the plane; his dad made sure he came here. Once Webb stepped off the plane, however, he didn't pull any prima dona stunts. He didn't, to the best of my recollection, miss any practices or do anything else to disrespect the Kings, the Maloofs or anyone else.

I don't want to turn this thing into a Chris Webber thread, but I'm sorry Chris did miss a practice and I do know that it was his dad who told him to act like a professional...Anyway, he's talking about it at the 3:25ish mark.

Since I'm on a dialup I can't view whatever it was you posted.

Is it about him coming here or him missing a practice? I asked some people who know some people and they said he never intentionally missed a practice that they could recall either.

My point is that from everything I've ever heard Webber may not have wanted to be here but he never did anything disrespectful once he actually stepped off the plane. If you remember differently it merely goes to show that sometimes memories can differ greatly about a singular event.

:)

Sounds like he missed the first practice (he said, but audio isn't the best) but it wasn't clear if it was "intentional" - I don't recall when he was traded in relation to the practice he is referring to, so it may have been a timing thing, I don't know.....Rick Adelman is in the video later and said that when Chris came to the first practice Chris told him he would play 100% and give it his all on the floor, etc. So it sounds like he may have missed a practice but the total picture of events isn't clear from this video.

If he did miss the first practice, my point would be that it wasn't intentional. I was getting the impression some people thought he actually acted out once he got here and no one I've talked to remembers anything like that happening. Timing might have caused him to not be able to get to a practice but that wouldn't be the same as Webber sitting in a corner pouting, saying "Hell, no. I ain't going."

:)

OK, he was traded on May 14th, so it would not have been a timing issue for the Kings camp I would think. And I saw at least one reference to him reporting for camp but no mention of being late.

I looked through a few sites trying to find some details, but nothing came of any of the info I could find. I am not about to go searching this one for old threads.....I don't have the time or inclination to do so.

It wouldn't do any good to try and find it in the old threads. The threads from back then were lost in the disaster of 2004.

A convenient way to wipe out the heartache of losing to the Lakers, I would guess. It's a conspiracy, I tell you! :p
