In order for that to work, one of them will have to get backup minutes at PG, or we'll have to run a 3 guard lineup from time to time. I don't think you can just split those minutes down the middle.
You're right. Nik can play minutes at the 1, probably taking out Sessions or some young and unproven point guard experiment. Let's be real: Sessions won't play for the Kings for long, either because he has been playing poorly (not so much recently) or because he's the typical journeyman. There's a good chance that we'll see a new point guard within the next few years. Nik already has a background as a playmaker; for example, he can run the pick and roll like a point guard. He's more versatile than Ben is. Nik can be a great combo guard that's also pretty tall! He has the time to further develop his point guard-like skills, since he's young.

We might see Nik as the versatile option, like a Ginobili; meanwhile, Ben is the pure SG, like a Danny Green. It might sound too good to be true, but get this: as of right now, it's possible.

So basically you have no concept whatsoever of the reason for these threads? It is NEVER too soon to celebrate a good performance, especially from a rookie who has not been living up to our expectations. This is supposed to be a fun thread.

Uh huh....

Uh huh....
She's still right about this, and you're still wrong. This isn't a "Woohoo, Nik Stauskas has turned it around! It's all smooth sailing from here!" thread. It's a "Woohoo! Nik Stauskas had a good game in a win!" thread. You've been here long enough to know how this works. It's a Kings Fans tradition: whenever a player, any player, has a performance that is significantly better than his average in a win, he gets a thread. It doesn't matter if he stunk the day before, and it doesn't matter if he stinks the day after; that's not why the threads are done.

These things are never intended to be season-long 'live blogs', or whatever. They are celebratory threads for that game. So, for you to come back around after he has a poor performance in the next game, it doesn't make you right, or justified, it just makes you a classless thread****ter, who's trying to ruin everybody else's good time.
