New logo for the Kings; a giant White Flag! Maybe they could just forfeit the rest of the games since according to Petrie the season is already a wash. I really believed this team could've beaten anyone in the West other than the Spurs. That's why you play the games, anything can happen. Who knows, maybe Duncan or Manu would've gotten hurt. How will the Kings feel if this actually happens opening the door for the Suns, Sonics, Mavs (teams the Kings could've beaten w/ Webber). I'm sick of hearing how the Kings were 51-16 w/o Webber but only 38-11 with him. What people like Ailene Voison conveniently forget is that Miller and Jackson both got hurt last year when Webber came back. So not only was Webber trying to use the rest of the regular season to get ready for the playoffs, but 2 major players were injured! Also, Webber sat alot of games against bad teams that the Kings should beat easily which inflated those with/without Webber stats. BTW; how have the Kings done in the playoffs WITHOUT CWEBB??

The more I think about his trade, the more it makes me sick. It's wrong on so many levels. Petrie trades away the team's best player and emotional for 3 role players with heavy contracts. He basically so that CWebb wasn't worth all that much to the Kings by making such a lopsided trade.

Ok, if Petrie's worried about being stuck with CWebb's contract after his knee blows out, I understand the need to try to get something for him before it happens. But isn't that what the offseason is for; instead of throwing in the towel during the middle of the season when the team still had a punchers chance? No one likes quitters, but that's the message the Kings sent out by making this trade.

Very good points about last season.

I'm with you on this. While I don't think this season will be a total write off (I think we will make the playoffs, and maybe even 2nd round) I think that our slim chances of a championship just dwindled to almost nothing. As much as I try to make peace with this trade, the biggest problems I have are that we got nothing in return and that it happened midseason. I don't like the message it sends to the other players, and I think Webber deserved better. I watched last night with a broken heart, and I really do love this team. I will watch and cheer & hope like always. But I am not happy with Kings management right now. I really think this trade shouldn't have happened. Not this way, and not right now. Losing Webb at ANY point would have hurt, because he is one of my favorite players, but losing him this way just rubs salt into the wounds.

Give me a break. Webber was important part of our team, but it si unfair for the remaining players to say that they are nothing without him and that they should just give up.

of course they shouldn't give up. we will still have a decent season, but a championship is next to impossible right now. we still have a great team, and it will get even better by the time Petrie is done, but I think it's obvious this move has been made looking at the long term, not as a means to a championship this year.
