New Kings fan here

I just wanted to drop in and say hello. I have been a fan of Jimmer ever since he enrolled at BYU. Over the years he has become my favorite basketball player of all time, and while I hoped he would be drafted by Utah, purely so I can see him on a regular basis, I am glad he has an NBA home in Sacramento.

I have been a casual Jazz fan over the years, but with Jimmer going to the Kings, I am proud to declare myself a Kings fan. I look forward to getting to know the team and its fan base.

I would be happy to answer any questions you guys have about Jimmer, and in turn I was hoping you guys could tell me more about the Kings. Admittedly I know very little. First and foremost, are the any other Kings fans in the Salt lake area? What is the best way to see Kings games on TV?

Thanks, and I look forward to cheering the Kings on with all of you!

Welcome. Pretty sure we're going to get flooded with Jimmer fans. It's going to be exciting. The Jimmer hype could very well surpass what we saw with JWill in 98. Good thing Jimmer is a better player, and I think will surpass expectations, since many don't think he's a pg, or starting caliber.

Welcome! I certainly hope that Fredette turns out to be a great player for us!

One thing you should keep in mind as you browse the board is that you've caught us in a very, shall we say, contentious moment. While most folks around here seemed to be generally positive on the idea of getting Jimmer, I think the majority opinion preferred (and perhaps strongly preferred) Brandon Knight, who we all thought would be taken by either the Jazz at #3 or the Raptors at #5. Yesterday's trade, where we acquired the larger, longer contract of John Salmons (whom we had traded away only a few years ago) in order to move down in the draft was a bit hard to swallow, especially when Brandon Knight magically dropped to the 8th slot. Now, indications are that our front office actually preferred Fredette and Walker to Knight, and even moved Udrih out of the way to make room for our draftee to play, but that doesn't necessarily take the sting off of missing out on the player a lot of people felt was the absolute best fit for us.

As a result, a lot of what you read right now is going to be colored by reactions to the trade. Normally we're not quite this feisty as a group.

Not me...
