I’ll go down swinging debating that the red uni’s are still far better than these new ones or the puke blues or the golds because they at least were an official team color at one point in time.

Anything not falling in line with official team name/mascot or colors goes straight to the end of the line. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

What a bunch of unimaginative cut and paste nonsense. I mean, I do like it slightly more than the Warriors finally putting Oakland on their jersey the year after they pick up and leave but that's not saying much. I'd like to see more enthusiasm about making use of the black, purple, silver color scheme in these alternate jerseys. The baby blue is a fun gimmick once in awhile but more and more it seems like that's the only move our staff has got so we're determined to make use of it every year. I still find it jarring to see the Kings wearing blue or red as a primary color. I like that black is at least the dominant color here but there's nothing going on with this design except a lazy font choice and color combo which is a lame attempt to cash in on the Miami Heat Vice jersey colorway. Also there must be some way to reference the history of the city besides meaningless PR crafted talking points that are apropos of nothing.

When I first saw the red ones I thought "Clippers knock-off" and hated them. for a while. Now I like them, and so this year I'm just going to skip the "getting used to it" phase and embrace them out of the gate. For what it's worth I loved the powder blue edition a couple years ago too.

At this point, it does feel to me like purple is the "alternate" (and since all the jerseys have names like "City Edition" anyhow, there's room for former traditional/alternate jerseys to slip identities). It makes me kind of sad, because I really do like the purple.
