NCAA Dunk Contest > NBA

Do yourselves a favor and take a look at each of the evening's dunks. Most were pretty good from rounds 1-3, finals were a dissapointment. If anything you HAVE to see James White's 2nd and 3rd round dunks.

Hands down, the 06 NCAA contest was better than anything the NBA has seen since Vince's 2000 show.

The dunks looked basic and simple.

BUT

The college atmosphere is CRAZY! And they actually made their attempts.

Basic and simple?

Two handed from the free thrown line is basic and simple? A windmill from the free thrown line is simple? Almost sticking the one hander from about 6 inches behind the free throw line is simple?

That was an awesome contest. And White should have won, regardless. Going through the legs from the free thrown line was just plain nutty.

(Not getting on your case MrBiggs, just pointing out that those dunks were pretty damn impressive)

For college kids sure but they wouldn't be getting 50s in the NBA dunk contest.

The NCAA dunk contest was so much better than the NBA one this year. Did you see some of Noel's and White's dunks? They were INSANE. They actually made most of their attempts, instead of taking 15 per dunk like Nate Robinson and wasting 5 minutes of my life. Iggy's dunk was amazing(and he got robbed), but other than that the NCAA dunk contest owned the NBA one.

Yes! Thanks for sharing that video. I really enjoyed all those dunks. White's between the legs from the FT line was AWESOME!

You better believe two handed from the free throw line and a windmill from the free throw line will get a 50 in the NBA dunk contest, as would the free throw line + 1 foot that the kid from Memphis missed and the between the legs from the free throw line dunk that was missed. If fact, if the between the legs from the line one was made they may have to give him a 60.

Damn! Those kids have crazy elevation. For sure some of those dunks could get 50's in the NBA. Think about it this way... I don't know what happened at last year's NCAA dunk contest, but do you think this year's NBA dunk champ Nate Robinson would of stood a chance against these monsters? No hating on Nate but, there's no way he can dunk from the FT line let alone between the legs.

It's not because that they're pros that they are better dunkers. It just means that they are overall better basketball players. I bet there's more than one college player, well known or not, that can dunk better than the NBA high flyers. For some of them, their overall basketball abilities will never give them the oppurtunity to showcase their dunking talent in the pros. Doesn't mean they can't rock the rim...
