I'm surprised how many people are picking against Portland. They are red hot, and are the only team in the west that can beat LA. GO BLAZERS!

They won't be beating LA with that Jazzish road record. Give them 2-3 yrs. Their series with Houston is a tough one to read. I have very little faith in the Rockets, frankly. They'd have to take this in 6 games, I don't see them winning a Gm7 there. They'd also better maximize Yao to the fullest extent, which they don't do, which drives the Rockets fans bat shh.

The West matchups are the best 1st round matchups I can remember in the last 20 years. Nearly every team in the West won 50 games!!! That is ridiculous. (also shows just how sad the bottom half of the West was).

It kills me that Houston and Portland have to match up in the 1st round as those were the 2 teams I was going to pull for this year.

Both 4/5 match-ups will be great to watch this year! I want to see if Roy can score against the Artest/Battier wall, and if Houston's point guards can stop the 3 point parade of Portland's young guns. The Atlanta/Miami games should be great too, with Wade vs. Joe Johnson outside and Horford vs. Beasley inside:).

This is a Kings board, with a bunch of people who respect Rick Adelman and want to see him win a title. That's part of it.

The other part is that the Rockets have the ability to play really stout defense for games at a time, and with Artest, can neutralize Brandon Roy. The Blazers are young and unproven, and have a poor road record.

And lastly, the Ewing Theory is in full effect. The Rockets are destined to at least make it out of the first round, simply because Tracy McGrady isn't playing.

East

Cleveland and Orlando are no brainers. Detroit would be lucky to win a game or two. I would be surprised if Philly isn't swept. I'm a Bulls fan, Garnett injury. Wade's gone crazy against teams much better than the Hawks.

West
(1) L.A. Lakers vs. (8) Utah
(2) Denver vs. (7) New Orleans
(3) San Antonio vs. (6) Dallas
(4) Portland vs. (5) Houston

Nawlins doesn't have enough depth. Ginobili injury. I think Houston is a better team.

Truly a potentially epic year for upsets this year. Even if I don't count the Lakers/Jazz series I have half the series ending in upsets.
