NBA Fantasy Keeper League(anyone interested?)

G-League
Me and my 3 buddies really want to create a Keeper league(or Dynasty League). We play on yearly leagues on Yahoo but we want to create a Keeper league. Thing is, we don't really know how to, and we don't have enough people.

So anyone that knows their stuff(obviously you must since youre on KF.com), that promises to be active and not ignore their team, is more than welcome to join us! If you know a thing or two about Keeper leagues, great cause we don't and we don't even know how to create one yet LoL. Obviously this would be for next season(isn't there a Rookie draft though in Keeper Leagues?)

So if anyone knows how to create a Keeper league, preferably using Yahoo, or just wants to join the one that we want to create, you guys are more than welcome.

Thanks

i woudln't mind joining in. i'm currently in a keeper league and 3 other regular h2h leagues.

it's pretty much the same thing as a regular league i guess..it's just you have to customize it more. instead of having a live draft you have a non-live draft (forgot the term used lol)

what we did was determine the draft order from the 10 player/teams...then once the draft started everyone had 24hrs to put in their pick on the forum...if they didnt then they would automatcially get the higher person based on the yahoo ranking.

we're undecided on whether we are going to keep 3, 4, or 5 players..
whoever wins the playoff will get the 1st pick, same for the 2nd and 3rd..then the rest is going to be random order.

Nice, well welcome aboard then.

Few quick questions for ya:

1: Is your Keeper League Head to Head?
2: How many people(10? 12?) with how many players each?
3: How did you determine the draft order? Or how could we do it for this league over the net when most of us don't know each other?
4: Let's say we keep 5 players each. Whoever wins the whole thing gets 1st pick overall out of all the players that werent kept from (keep 5 players each) for next year?.
5: Is it exactly like a normal Yahoo league? Except that we have a special website/forum for the league?
6: Initial Draft: is it done by e-mail and that you have to trust the Comissioner or is it done on Yahoo?

Sorry im just new to this and i dont know much about it.

I'm sorry but, unless I'm reading this backwards, it's retarded; why should the team that wins the playoffs get the #1 draft pick in a keeper league? What does that accomplish other than keeping the top teams on top and the bottom teams on bottom?

yeah thats what i was thinking too

I'd like to get in on a Fantasy NBA keeper league. I'm currently in the KF Avis league, if that matters.

Thanks,
Matt

hi, would the league be H2H weekly? difficult for me to follow daily because it's blocked at work. but i wouldn't mind joining if you still have a spot open.

oh, and preferably yahoo...if NBA.com, no way! that has got to be the worst fantasy game site i've come across.

1. yup head 2 head
2. 10 teams, 14 players, (positions = pg, sg, g, sf, pf, f, c, 3 util and 4 bench players)
3. this was our first year, the commissioner just put us in random order through excel or some other program i think.
4. i believe so, but we're still uncertain about this...
5. it's like a regular yahoo head 2 head league. the only difference is the draft, it is offline, the commissioner has to put in our picks manually for each team..
6. we did it on the forum, once the draft started, that person w/ the pick gets 24hrs (or was it 48hrs) to choose. example if i got the 3rd pick, once the person w/ the 2nd pick chooses, i have 24hrs to decide. if i dont post my pick within that timeframe, then i would automatically get the top ranked/rated player based on the yahoo ranking.

o yea, btw we had a limit of 25 waiver moves for the season to make it "more challenging" so team owners don't pick and drop someone everyweek. which makes you think a bit before you do make a move.

All 3 of you are in as of right now. So far we are 4 + my 3 friends. So we only need 3 more people to reach the ideal amount!

if it's a yahoo H2H, I'd like to play next year.

with one caveat...Slim had a good point about playoff teams and draft positions. Even the real NBA doesn't work like that. Is that the way u plan to operate it?

welcome aboard. 2 more spots open

Nah, whoever is gonna be last will have 1st pick overall in the pool of the remaining players. All according to how many players we decide to keep each.

Keeper League

I am currently in a keeper league, it is a blast. We do it where each team has 20 players and each team keeps 15 for the next season and then we have a 5 round draft to fill the other 5 spots (rookies taken for the most part).
Here are my 15 keepers...TJ Ford, Mo Williams, Ben Gordon, Devin Harris, Kevin Martin, Josh Howard, Jason Kapono, Anthony Parker, Andre Iguodala, Walter Herrmann, Corey Maggette, Kevin Garnett, Nene Hilario, Carlos Boozer, and Samuel Dalembert. I took second place this season, and as you can see I have some solid young players for next year and should be able to compete for 1st once again.
In our league we have a ton of categories...fgm, fg%, ftm, ft%, 3ptm, 3pt%, pts, oreb, dreb, reb, ast, st, blk, to.
Our league is rotiserie style, and we have 12 teams in our league therefore there are 12 possible points in each of the 14 categories.
I always join some other yahoo leagues every year too, but i have a very hard time paying any attention to them, i joined only one other one this year, and took first without a problem in it.

So, if someone is looking to start a keeper league, let me know...I would more than likely be interested

Rodney
