These teams are in Europe playing to prepare for the NBA season, where they will be playing under NBA rules... so how is it helpful for these teams to be playing under FIBA rules in their preseason games?

I think the rules are actually a FIBA/NBA mix (for example, the 3points line is NBA range and games are 4x12 minutes long).

Anyway, I think the "NBA Europe Live" is more about promoting NBA in Europe than helping the teams to prepare for the NBA season...

as the previous poster said, most rules are taken from the nba. the only fiba specific rule is the 3-second lane: it has the fiba size. i guess painting the lanes anew did not suit them fine.

the goaltending rule is as in the nba: not allowed to touch as long as the ball is in the cylinder, regardless of whether the ball touched the iron or not.

Zalgiris Kaunas playing Golden State Warriors tonight.

That's the first time a Lithuanian team plays an NBA one.

I'm giddy :)
