If the the Jazz are in the 8th seed by the time the coaches pick All Stars Gordon Hayward has to be picked surely, he's kept the team afloat despite them starting a 3rd string PG and having the worst injury luck in the NBA. Hopefully he gets some recognition if the Jazz can come close to the 500.

As long as it doesn't impede Boogie from getting an All-Star nod, I wont mind.

Memphis steal another one from the Pistons this time Mario Chalmers with a bs game winner.

I know it's versus the Sixers and all but Jimmy Butler scores 53 points on 30 shots....who would of ever thought this guy would turn out to be what he is today...goes to show you a team doesn't have to always draft in the lottery to get themselves that all-star caliber player.

The last years, there have been a lot of those late drafted guys that are now playing like Allstars. Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Kawhi Leonhard. All guys that always had the physical tools and then improved their game every season by working really hard. Smart franchises like the Spurs and Bulls seem to recognize this talent and develop it more often than other franchises. Of course as always, there a factors that you can't control like injuries etc. But as you said, you don't have to tank to draft an Allstar. Be smart and draft the right guy and then develop the talent you have.

Problem with the Kings though, as you know, is that they are incapable of doing that. The talent they do have they let go, when that doesn't happen, they are completely incompetent at drafting since Geoff Petrie left the helm.

You may have to change your mind with WCS. It's a different group of people that we now call the Kings.

That's yet to be seen...Trill has three years of college ball under Calipari who are more NBA ready than most programs coming into the league. Whether Trill becomes as good as we hope, remains to be seen. There is no reason he can't be a Tyson Chandler type of player.

I've got to say, I can't help but feel bad for whomever my counterpart is in Nuggets Fan Nation. And, by my counterpart, I'm not talking about another mod, I'm talking about anybody who may happen to be a diehard Nuggets fan, but doesn't like football. It has to suck knowing that no matter what happens in this game, nobody covering local sports in Denver tomorrow is going to give a ****!

Kemba Walker just broke Glen Rice's Charlotte Hornets franchise scoring record with 52 points. The previous record was 48.

Marcus Thornton channeling his 2011 self by hitting two back to back 3's at the end of regulation to send the Rockets into OT against the Clips. That year we traded for him, he was basically 75% in late game situations. Any time we needed to ice a game or win it, Thornton made it.

Those teams can actually develop talent.. this Kings team? Not really...

I think if McLemore was drafted by the Spurs, he'd a much better player at the moment.
I find it gratifying that all three of those guys played at least two years of college.
So has most of the Kings' latest draftees:
Jimmer- 4 years
Robinson- 4 years
McLemore- 1 year + 1 year of RS ...2 years?
Stauskas- 2 years
WCS- 4 years

And? What's your point? Did you just want to ruin my warm, fuzzy feeling? I say that I am gratified that there are three guys who were late picks that are playing at an All-Star level, and all of them played at least two years of college, and your response is, "Well, the Kings drafted plenty of guys who played 2+ years of college, and they all stink"? What do you think that proves, anyway, other than that the Kings have been historically ****ty at drafting? I don't even see how you even see me praising late-first round/second round steals as a segue to talk about the Kings in the first place? Everything ain't about the Kings; that's why we have this whole other forum.

Also, nitpick: Cauley-Stein only played three years at Kentucky.

Slim, can you just discuss the sport without trying to "win" all the time? There's hundreds of other members on this board that are capable of disagreeing without biting each others heads off in the name of "winning" the internet. The snarky attitude is unbelievably exhausting.

Did someone take a 2 in your cup of tea this morning? Was it me?

Pointing out that the Kings have also drafted guys who've had more than a year at college is instigating a situation? Maybe I was trying to draw the conclusion that the NBA is trending towards players with more college experience as a direct result of the success in Green and Butler? GMs are thinking: "how the hell did we miss out on Draymond Green, and how the hell do we get another?"

There's no particular evidence that the NBA is trending in such a direction. Which is why I find the success of those guys to be so gratifying in the first place.

Rockets were relentless on the hack a Drummond....36 FT attempts? what the...who was the last player to take that many free throws? DeAndre Jordan probably?
