More Kings and Jazz

The Jazz doesn't look the same, having lost 14 of 17 after falling to the Kings and dipping further below .500 at 11-19. Utah hasn't been this bad since 1982-83, the last time it had a losing record.

Sloan was especially irked with his defense, that Chris Webber was able to do anything he wanted with the ball. On one play, Webber dribbled between his legs, freezing a disinterested Carlos Boozer, who also couldn't prevent Webber from ending the play with a dunk. After two more Webber jumpers, Boozer was yanked in favor of Curtis Borchardt.

"A couple of times, we didn't even come out of our tracks," Sloan groaned to reporters after Friday's game. "We got to a certain point and stood. I mean, we never did close out on (Webber), never made him pass the ball or put it on the floor."

Webber said he enjoys taking on Sloan's teams.

"Jerry Sloan is amazing," Webber said Friday. "Truthfully, I don't like him much as a competitor, because I know he always comes aggressive. He's still one of the best. "He gets me pumped up sometimes when he screams at his players, argues with calls, things like that. I really mean that. He's one of the coaches I really respect in the league. Certainly makes you want to beat him."
